I'm not so sure. It appears to me that Jules is holding a Star Model B 1911 style gun. Star made that gun in 9mm.

Found it:

Star Model B

Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) carries a 9mm Star Model B throughout the film. While visually the Star Model B is almost identical to Vincent's Auto Ordnance 1911, it is a much rarer pistol of Spanish manufacture. Despite this rarity the Star Model B can generally be had for a third the price of a Auto Ordnance 1911 of similar condition, and would have been much less expensive than Vincent's chromed and pearl-gripped Auto Ordnance 1911. Jules refers to his gun as "Mr. 9mm", which some over the years have regarded as a goof.

This link has many pics from the film showing the gun.

Brad at CCR did them for me. He actually did the compact before the full size. I just picked up one in 357 SIG that will be headed off to him next week for Cera-Plate after I put a couple hundred rounds downrange with it later this week.
