This weekend State Parks were free, so on the suggestion of a friend, my ladyfriend and I took an adventure up to Fort Flagler.
My friend makes fun of me for always having flashlights, even during the day. Well, look who's prepared to explore abandoned bunkers.
Part of the Triangle of Death. I liked the stories about them blowing out the windows in town from the mortars.
Fort Casey on Whidbey Island was nice.
Here's a 10" gun like at Fort Casey.
The butcher with the sharpest knife has the warmest heart.

Some very nice photos there.
Texan by choice, not accident of birth
When they ask me, "Paper or plastic?" I just say, "Doesn't matter to me. I am bi-sacksual."
Reminds me that I haven't taken the kids to Fort Casey this year. They love running around and climbing on the bunkers.
If you're in to that stuff you may wish to consider joining Coast Defense Study Group (CDSG).
