No, No, No...you stick to birds and wildlife. I dont need you diminishing the confidence I have in my own landscape abilities. Please, I'm begging you.
What CPL are you using? |

LOL! Come on....I need to branch out from time to time. 67mm B+W attached to my Nikkor 70-300mm VR lens. All my filters are B+W....I can't see spending all that money on a nice lens and then putting a cheap piece of glass in front of it. This message has been edited. Last edited by: BrainOnSigs, |

I also wanted to post this picture. I used the circular polarizer on this one also...even though I posted the photo in black and white in an earlier thread.
Here it is in color..... |

When I bought my tripod and 40D, I decided it was time for a CPL. Most of my shooting is landscapes anyhow, so I knew it would be money well spent. I had read a great deal on B&W and was set to buy, but they were out of stock. Being the patient person I am, I opted for the Hoya instead of waiting. It was bit of a gamble for a 165.00 (approx) filter, but no complaints thus far. I agree that it is silly to spend so much on high quality glass and then put a $20 filter on the end. CPLs are well worth the price for those who may be interested. |

FWIW,
(And I'm certainly no authority on what others should want to look at), I think the CB pic is better in B&W. It's a sweet shot in color but the tonal subtleties of the same image in B&W are many and detailed. It's truly a scene that deserves a B&W interpretation. Glad you posted both! slocum's Law: Never buy a handgun in a caliber smaller than your waist size. The Cheeseburger Corollary: Eating cheeseburgers will increase your stopping power. |

It's my desktop. That sunset is crazy good. Makes me want to follow you around, guy - seriously beautiful stuff your eye captures. A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have. ---- Thomas Jefferson |

Great shots!
I knew I liked you for some reason, even though you are a Nikon shooter. I am a B+W filters guy too. --------------- Jeffrey Sig P220ST - Sig Mosquito - S&W 1006 - S&W 4566 - S&W 686 - Colt Delta Elite DW 1911 Commander 10mm - H&K USP .45 - H&K USPc .45 - Bushy AR-15 M4A3 Ruger Mini-14 - Rem 870 Those who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty nor security. - Benjamin Franklin |

Excellent work, BoS. It's an inspiration to me to take my little Canon out for a walk.

What kind of Bird is that?
Beautiful pictures by the way.
