Gave him two of my pistols for some work to be done. Just picked them up today. The stainless steel gun is a true tack driver and the triggers on both are great! Thinking about taking off the laser grips and putting the AL Sig grips on the SS gun because it just dosent need a laser.

1 Stainless steel P229 9mm. Had the beaver chopped off, loaded chamber indicator, stage 2 trigger work, XS Bigdot front sight installed, slide carry melted, Magna ported, skelton trigger/hammer, and had everything bead blased to match.

2 P229 SCT 9mm. Had the SRT trigger installed, stage 2 trigger work, loaded chamber indicator, Magna ported, skelton trigger/hammer, slide carry melted, all refinished in CreaKote TI gray on slide/small parts and black CreaKote frame.

Here are some pics. I am not skilled in this department sorry.

We don't need no stinking beavers!!!

Group Pic of some of my P229/8s.

Those look awesome! The porting job is very nice.

Is that the new style lasergrip for the p228/9? What do you think of it? I've been looking for someone who had one, and wanted to know what they thought before I purchased one.

Thank you.

Yes the new style is much better and I can actually hit the laser activation button without changing my grip. They also look a lot better to me.

six-x, I like the loaded chamber indicator. Did Todd do that? The SAS/ melted slide treatment also turned out great!

The main reason I am asking is because I will be picking up a 40S&W SP2022 very soon that may have a loaded chamber indicator. I also plan on getting a 357Sig barrel as soon as possible which will probably not have the cut out in the barrel hood so I have been trying to figure out who could cut the chamber indicator into the barrel.

I also would like to have a loaded chamber indicator added to my 9mm SP2022.

~~~GO COLTS~~~
You can get from Sig like that now but it was a pain in the ass. I got 2 from sig and 1 was decent while the other looked like a kid with a dremel did it. It took months for sig to make them. Todd fixed the one and did 2 more barrels for me that looked better than sigs job.
Wow that Elite with the silver grips looks NIYCE!
Do you find that the black on the aluminum grips will chip/scratch off? Just curious, why did you choose aluminum over G10, Im trying to decide which one I want on my 229.
The sig AL grips just fit my hand the best. They can't chip they are anodized AL but they can get scratched up just like a AR15 receiver.
Did he also do the skeleton hammers/triggers?
"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." Thomas Jefferson to Peter Carr, 1785.
So, you actually carry a ported gun? Not a good idea IMO. Hope these are for range/home defense only.
Great looking collection. I've had Todd do long gun work for me, and I can't speak highly enough of him and his work.
Yes I do and? I carried a G19C for a couple years and it's always served me fine. I have shot in the dark and the flash has no effect on sight picture or follow up shots. As for the flame/gas directed towards the body it's nothing. Shooting a snub nose .357 mag revolver is worse. The only difference is that porting makes the gun slightly louder.
Still, you never know what position you will be in when you need to use your gun for defense. It might be extremely close, most encounters will be at arms length or closer and because of this your gun will be closer to your body as well.
I understand your concerns but i beleive it is a non-issue. The blast from any pistol that close to the body in that situation can cause damage either way.
Does the proximity of the ports to the fiber optic sight cause any concern? Nice triggers.
Have not noticed any problems yet but I have not put that many rounds thru her yet. Time will tell how the fiber optic will hold up with the porting. I don't think the porting will mess up the front sight.
Just dropped the SS 229 back off to Todd again this morning to make a few changes and melt a few more parts. Wink Will add more pics when I pick her up.
