I was stunned when I took a look here to find people post regulary and get welcome replies. It reminds me of 40 years ago when they had welcome wagon ladies come around to new people in the neighborhood. Just got my first Sig, a regular no frills P229 in .40 after a friend bugged me for two years to try his. It was love at first magazine. Cool So, it's off to the races to learn more about what I just bought myself into.

I'm a 1911 fan, loved a Glock 23 for several years (LOVED it), an XD40 for a while (good gun, didnt fit my hand), and now the Sig... I think this relationship finally could be something real. Wink

Still have the 1911, from my father, a Ser 70 Gold Cup. That and an old S&W M67 in stainless will always be in the safe. I think, however, the Sig is going to stay for a long time.

Thanks for all the info shared on this forum which I've already rummaged around in for a few days.

Best,
Rod

Welcome from N. Texas, always glad to add another Texas member. I have a feeling you may enjoy the Signess. Don't resist, your efforts are futile!

I sure hope you don't get to shoot a 220, etc.... You may never understand what you got into, but you're wallet will find out pretty soon.

Make yourself at home, learn the search function, and try to leave it better than you found it.

Tom

Welcome!

From one Austinite to another, I think you will find this a very hospitable place. Keep an eye out too, I think there are some rumblings of a Central Texas get together sometime.

Thanks all.

Thunderjohn, I'm glad to know WW ladies still exist!

Otto, a sig roundup would be great. Austin Rifle Club has allowed "off campus" groups to have a swap meet and shoot in the past. If it starts to gain momentum, let me know and I will inquire.
