Just wanted to say hello to everyone. My name is Ron. I just purchased my first Sig a few weeks ago. It was a local police issue Sig 229 .40 cal. LE version with higher capacity mags. It is 10 years old and has been fired about 80 rounds per year for that 10 year period. It was in great shape.
I've always been a COLT fan. I currently own 2 Gold Cups, 1 early stainless Gov't Model, an enhanced Gov't Model and a Defender all in .45 cal. Oh,,, & I own a Glock 23.
My younger brother let me shoot his Sig 220 a few years ago and I really liked it. I've been looking at them for several years now but never purchased one. I haven't fired the one I have yet but know that it will be a great gun.
I like simple guns and the COLT's and SIGS fit that bill well. They are easy to take down and clean and at my age, I don't like to waste a lot of time fooling with them.
Anyway,,,, I am glad to be a part of your group. I know I'll step up my understanding and education on SIG models thru your postings.
Take care and thanks for letting me in (even though I do have one of those other pistols!),,,,,,Ron

Welcome to the forum.

A P229 in 40 is a classic combination, literally made for one another. Congrats on the purchase.

I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.

Hi guys! Thanks for all the kind words. I see I have a few neighbors in here as well. Look forward to all of your help in the future as I delve into the new world (at least to me) of SIG firearms.
Have a good evening,,,,,,,,,Ron
