I recently began researching the purchase of a P226 and was directed to this forum by the folks at M4 Carbine.net. I like what I have seen.
I have owned several pistols over the years (Ruger P89, S&W 5903 and 4011, Colt Officer's ACP and Glock 22) and recently bought a 1911 (Nighthawk T3) for carry. I have always been interested in Sig pistols since the first time I handled the P220 of a friend back in the early 1990's. I loved the feel and quality of the gun and it shot great groups. For whatever reason I never bought one until now.
I just purchased a P226 .40 cal CPO without a rail. It will arrive at my FFL early next week and I can't wait to shoot it.

Hello WGG. Welcome to the forum. I am also a new member. I just purchased a SIG 229 in .40 cal a few weeks back. I have always been a fan of the Colt 1911's - - all of them and still am!!! My brother has an early model 220 .45 cal that I had an opportunity to shoot a few years back. I knew then that I would one day own one. Like you, I can't put my finger on exactly why I waited so long. I think we'll both enjoy them. At least we can find .40 cal ammo right now. .45 cal is almost exstinct in Eastern Kentucky.
Enjoy your new SIG,,,,,,,,,,,Ron
