First off, hey everyone! I am currently a seasonal employee for the Delaware State Parks, with major hopes of getting in full time as a ranger. I love the job more and more every day and am trying to suck in as much info as I can get! Plainly put, I don't want to just get in the job...I want to be good at and good for the job. I want to make a difference in the system and in the community.

I've learned tons of info so far, and I'm just trying to prepare myself as best as I can to get in whenever the opportunity arises. The reason I am on here is ... lets just say this...I'm a novice at guns, and I need some major pointers. I've only been to a shooting range twice in my life (sad)! I am looking to purchase my first handgun so I can perfect my shooting skills for the job I hope to achieve. I have received many good reviews on SIG weapons, so I thought I'd join the list and get some information. I don't want my first gun to be a cheapo ripoff. I want it to last my lifetime Smile So any pointers on a good gun would be awsome. I have recieved a lot of good advice from our fulltimers, but I don't want to just flood them with all my questions either, lol. So my biggest question is, there are so many different types, models, sizes, grips, etc, where do I even start on knowing what it all means? Are there any good books or reference sheets out there to learn the terminology? I've been reading other posts on different topics too, just to try to get a handle on it all.

So any help, tips, advise would be great! Nice to meet you all! Look forward to learning!!!

* Anxiously awaiting my 21st b-day (gun day!!!) *
