i am looking to load up some 1200fps 9mm loads. i want to use 125gr hp bullets, i have bullseye ,hs6,hs5 aa7,aa9,unique and h110 powders. anybody have a good load? if not what powder do i need to achieve 1200fps with the 125gr bullet?thanks
Published Unique loads can do that at sub +P pressures in service length barrels, and so can some of other powders you mention, just not published that *I* have seen lately. Go over to Brian Enos's forum and search the board to see what is available.
If you ever want to try Power Pistol, Blue Dot, and Herco you can find some loads that will achieve your goal.

You will be able to reach 1200fps with Accurate #5 (my choice) or Accurate #7. Unique should work, H110 is too slow for 9MM IMHO. My load is 6.2 gr Accurate #5 under Hornady 125 gr flat-nose bullets, it's 1170 fps out of Browning HP.
Please keep in mind that 1200fps is obtainable at the upper edge of 9MM pressure limits, so approach the max carefully. I get 1450fps out of 38 Super Comp with same Hornady 125gr bullets and VV 3N37 powder, out of 1911 fully supported barrel. Some folks get similar velocities from 9mm (look up 9MM Major), but that's not for me. LT

Any time you get into that velocity, I'd stick with the slower powders to avoid as much as that initial pressure spike as possible.
3n38, n105, imr 4756, true blue, sp2 are powders I've tried and they will all get you there easily and safely.
Current Guns: -Suppressed M&P 9 for the nightstand -Brazos Custom STI 5" 2011 in 9mm for Limited Minor & Plinking -Brazos Custom STI 5" 2011 in .40 S&W for Limited -Brazos Custom STI 4.5" 2011 Pro SX for Open
The Hodgdon and Alliant websites have a lot of good data for the load in question. Persdonally I would prefer either Bullseye, WSF or Unique.

You want speed ,go with Blue Dot. Speer # ten manual has a recipe for 125 bullet with 8.8 grains of blue dot with a speed of 1233 fps.Unique is a close second.

Of the those you have, AA#7 & Unique can safely get you to 1200fps. BlueDot, Longshot & PowerPistol work also. Work upto 5.8gr of Unique under a 124grJHP for 1200fps+. These are pushing +p depending on who's data you beleive.

I use 6.4gr AA#5 (max load) under 124gr Hornady FMJ-RN set at 1.095".
If you want hotter, VV 3N37 can get you up there. Thehighroad has some recipes if you search that are quite hot. I haven't located an VV powder locally yet, so I haven't gone there.
I didn't even think of trying Unique. What did you set COL? I usually run 4.6gr Unique under Hornady FMJ-FP set at 1.050". A good practice load, nowhere near "hot."

That's a pretty soft load, probably just making 1000fps. COL will vary quite a bit w/ depending on the bullet used. I load TC lead or FMJ to 1.055" but the loooong 124gr Rem.GS needs 1.140"

Of the powders you list AA7, Unique and HS6 will get you close if not there (depending upon you handgun and barrel length). These will be compressed loads as all these powders fill the case almost completely at full charge. AA7 is a powder that was developed by IMI to load Israeli 9mm sub machine gun ammo. Another powder to consider would be Power Pistol, canister grade powder of the bulk powder that was developed for loading US military 9mm.
