Anyone ever send a press back to Dillon for a rebuild?? I recently snagged a pair of dillons a 550B thats 98% there and an early 1050 thats got a lot of pieces missing.

I can deal with the 550 as I've got one. But I'm inexperienced with the 1050. I was thinking of checking if they have a REBUILD service.

Yes, they do. I was given a very poorly maintained 650. Shipped it to Dillon. Three weeks later it came back completely rebuilt with no bill for return shipping. Outstanding customer service. Call first. Good luck.

Also, your 1050 may not be covered by Dillon's lifetime no BS warranty.

You should call them first about that, though, before you send it in.

Otherwise you might be charged quite a lot Eek for parts replacement and/or rebuild on the 1050.

A 1050 rebuild is a minimum of $149, plus PARTS and shipping. I found an old 1050 manual and downloaded/printed out the current 1050 SUPER manual/parts list.

I think I'm going to clean some bench space and lay it all out in the garage and see where I'm at with it. It's currently set up for .38 super! Worthless to me other than to sell the Super dies to get something more useful for MY needs.

Nice wintertime project.

I've seen messages posted from those who sent back the press for a rebuild. It was not done for free but the services preformed were worth it. The press is totally realigned and comes back like new. Worth the cost.

Dillon did my 650XL for free. I paid shipping one way. Great service.

The Super 1050 is a great machine, once set up properly. Don't be afraid to take it apart, the learning curve is well worth the effort. I can load over 1000 rds/hr .45 ACP (closer to 1200) using a 1050 and RF100. If loading .45 make sure the Win NT stuff is REMOVED, the small pistol primer pockets will scare the hell out of you when you try to press a large pistol primer into the space.

Also, the 1050 sets the primer on the down stroke, very nice.

Set up your 1050 for one caliber and avoid future headaches.

I just got my Square Deal back from servicing. I bought it for a song and it was missing a few pieces. Cost about 100 bux total for the whole rebuild and they did charge me for the missing pieces but what I got back was pretty much a brand new press (they replaced the whole frame and a lot of the powder measure).

Just got my 650 back from a rebuild at Dillon. I couldn't be happier!
They replaced all moving parts and put on a completely new priming system. Basically, the only old stuff is the actual press and handle pull mechanism. I sent it without a conversion kit, and it returned with one installed...
Now I rememeber why I bought a Dillon! Their customer service is always very responsive and goes beyond what is expected. I wish my cable company would take a few lessons from them.
BTW it took about 2 weeks and was 49.95 for the service, including the shipping. Well worth it!

I just got my Square Deal Back. It was 39.95 and is basically brand new. Its no longer hard for me to understand why so many are loyal Dillon people.
