other than the obvious way to fix accuracy problems, how would i go about fixing my 380 loads that shoot rather high? tried them today at @30 feet and they all were constantly 4" too high. using 3.2 power pistol and a 115 grn tmj set to an oal of .985, any help is surely appreciated
Is your problem accuracy (large groups) or good groups but point of impact too high? If the latter, the usual approach (other than sight adjustment or in some cases lowering your point of aim as in bullseye shooting) is a heavier bullet or less powder if that is your only goal. I can't comment on your load since I don't load .380, but the bullet weight looks to be on the high side already. COAL too short or too long can cause higher pressures and changes in external ballistics. Good luck.
Heavier and slower bullets shoot higher than lighter or faster bullets. You can't get enough velocity out of a 115gr bullet in .380 to lower the impact significantly. Since the common bullet weights used in .380's is between 90 and 100 grs your 115 gr loads will shoot higher in fixed sighted pistols designed for the standard ammo weights.
As mentioned your choice is to just aim low or if your gun has adjustable sights, adjust the rear sight as low as possible. The other option would be to obtain bullets in the 90 to 100 gr weight that are intended to be shot in .380's. Another option would be to raise the front sight ht. either by replacement or build up but that would lower the impact for standard ammo.
