Has anyone reloaded Blazer brass and have you had any problems? I read a post on the S&W forum that it is made differently than other brands of brass. I am going to a shooting school and will burn a lot of ammo. I have a case of Blazer brass and may use it if it is not a good candidate to reload.

All my 45ACP brass is Blazer. I haven't loaded them many times yet, and my loads are pretty anemic, but no problems to report.

I have buckets of it.
Reloads just fine for me.
Some I've had for years and have reloaded at least 10 times.

Blazer brass cases are fine for reloading. The aluminum ones though, not.

IF YOU AREN'T HANDLOADING, YOU AREN'T SHOOTING ENOUGH! If you could make your own gas, wouldn't you???

Did I snag your brass at the last shoot?
I thought I dumped it in your bag?
If not, maybe we'll have to work out a prisoner exchange... Razz

I'm not sure what you mean by diffrent, but if you load 45 ACP you have to be careful, both Blazer and Speer have started to put out brass that uses small pistol primers instead of the normal large size. A fast look at them and its easy to tell the diffrence, you just have to keep them sorted by primer paocket size.

WinCLean 45acp ammo also uses small pistol primers. PITA.

Amerc must be thrown out due to off-spec thickness.

S&B ammo sometimes has tight primer pockets, but otherwise it works.

Since both the 40 S&W and 9mm Blazer aluminum cases now use regular small pistol boxer primers, I have reloaded some with no seen problems. As a bonus, the once fired cases are all over the ground, as no one picks them up. I would not load one unless it appeared to be a "freshly fired case", as old ones appear to break apart after lieing on the open weather for a long time. No split cases or enlarged primer pockets so far. The most I have reloaded a single case has been 3 times so far. What are the specific problems noted with reloading them so I can be aware and watch out for them. Thanks, Bruce
