If your just starting out,a hand trimmer made by Hornady or RCBS should do you just fine.If you start doing lots of reloading look at the RCBS power case trimmer. It has a 3-way cutter attachment that trims to length, chamfer's the inside of the case and deburr's the outside all in one step.

I use a Forster hand trimmer. It's a bit tedious but if I just knock out fifty or so every once in a while I seem to be able to keep up with my needs. Everyone I've talked to that owns a Giraud power trimmer seems very happy with it; I just don't see hand trimming as a $400 PITA quite yet.

I have to agree - the Giraud is awesome but I have yet to reach that threshold where it's mandatory.

The Gracie trimmer is a little cheaper and does the same job but doesn't handle the shavings as well. If you're loading thousands of rounds of ammo trimming gets to be a PITA awfully quick. I've purchased most of the common caliber bushings. I expect the trimmer will outlast me.
