The answer depends on how many rounds per month or year you plan to reload now and in the future.

I would save or borrow the money & get te Hornady LNL. The Lee can be finicky & diff. to keep running w/o small annoying problems. Dillon stuff is great, I load on two 550Bs, but I think the LNL is a great buy topday & you get 1K free bullets. It's also expandable w/a case feeder if you really think you need one, but 500 a month can be done in a leisurely 90min w/ the basic press.
IF YOU AREN'T HANDLOADING, YOU AREN'T SHOOTING ENOUGH! If you could make your own gas, wouldn't you???

10 boxes per month? If you buy the Lee and reload, you'd save $50/mo (at $5/box). That would pay for the Lee in 4 months. In another 12 months you would save an additional $600. If you don't buy the Lee, how long will it take you to save up to buy the Dillon or Hornady?

If I don't buy the lee I should have around 400 in september(birthday and figure I will get some loot) And how much I save beyound that probally depends on how much I shoot.
I got a guy that will go in halfs with me on the press. (not sure how I feel about owning half a press but it would live in my garage so that is good)So we could get the Hornady now but not sure how much more it would cost to get a conversion kit and set up for 9mm reloading.
Anyone know what else the red press would need to be up and running for 9mm? Tons of info on the dillon so no questions on what it would take we figure about 460 to get it up and running.
Thanks Steven

No apology req'd. You know I roll w/ Big BLue (2-550B). It's just they have gotten so pricey lately & $100-$150+ worth of free bullets is pretty attractive for a autoindexing progressive.

650 is a serious machine buddy...Just got an order in from Powder Valley...I'm set pretty good on powder and primers for quite awhile!!!! Last check I have over 30,000 primers and 50+ lbs of various powders... Now if I can just get some of these honey do projects done around here, I can find some time to break in this bad boy!!!!! Too many irons in the fire right now!!!!! And we sure don't need another storm here for many years to come!!!!! I just started out reloading 7 months ago on a Lee Classic Turret, and couldn't be happier. I highly recommend this press to anyone just starting out, very easy to set up, and run. Once you have the whole process down pat, and find 150-200 rounds an hour to slow for your needs, then upgrade to a progressive.

I have a Dillon and they are a great press. I have heard good things about the Hornady LNL also. I would go with one of those two choices as the lee stuff I have seen is not built as well as the Dillon I have had for 12+ years.

Ok I have settled on a dillon but now I have the whole square deal vs 550b debate! I really only plan on using this for pistol calibers and mostly 9mm. If I get into reloading .308, I can get a single stage pretty cheap to do those on!
So sqdeal or 550b? why or why not?

there is no wrong answer here as long as you know that the SDB is limited to certain pistol calibers. When pricing, remember that the SDB comes with one conversion kit and dies. The 550b comes with the conversion kit but you need to add dies. (At least that is the way they were priced the last time I looked at them.) I have 2 SDBs and I've been very happy.
