Has any one noticed that Wolf primers seem harder to seat?

I started using Wolf large pistols primers on 45acp and they seem a lot harder to seat then any others I've ever used.

From what I was told, they are a bit oversized. I had a tough time loading the SRM in 223 in swaged LC brass.

I've not had an issue w/ the LP but the SP seem slightly oversize. It probably varies from lot to lot. I am not a fan of Wolf primers. You are now paying more for an imported primer than say CCI made here.

But who can find CCI primers? Wolf has stepped up production or at least they are available. CCI are like ghost, if you hear about them, you can't touch because they are gone by the time you get there...

I think CCI are more available in some areas than Win. Rem or certainly Federal. Put an order in w/ Graf's & wait. They come dribbling in & Graf's fills BO as they get stock. The Wolfs work ok, but are more expensive now than CCI in many places. Not to mention the whole buy American thing.

I get CCI's in at Bill Jackson's and Federal at Dade City... so I've done alright with primers... I just wish I could get more winchesters in anywhere.

I have recently primed a "bunch" of 9mm, 40S&W, and 45 ACP with Wolf LP/SP primers. I had the most difficulty with import (fiochi and mag-tech) and WCC brass. I have a wide variety of 9mm WCC datestamp brass. Some dates work better than others (domestic primers too). Mag-tech 40 seemed to be much more sensitive. Some 45 magtech was sensitive, others not. Overall, it depends...

The last batch I bought was in June, they were still less expensive than CCI which I prefer if I could find them. I stocked up so I'll burn what I got until better choices are available.

Marc34639 http://www.floridashootersnetw...289&p=487111#p487111 has Winchester SP. Don't know if he has received anything else. He was expecting a shipment, can't remember what of.

I just got my Wolf LP primers from Widener's yesterday and loaded a few rounds.

The Fiocchi brass is the hardest to seat but not difficult at all.
Federal seats really easy.
Win, Blazer and others are middle of the road compared to the two above.
