I recently exhausted a large supply of Winchester WST, and am using Titegroup at the moment. I'm working through some Ranier 147 gn, but normally use coated Bayou Bullets.

My favorite is WSF 5.3gr under a 115gr FMJ. Second choice is 231. I' haven't had any supply issues with WSF so I am reluctant to change.

I've also been using WSF, for years, but I shoot a 147gr FMJ bullet, so 3.9gr makes a 132 power factor (~900fps). This is also a subsonic load.

When in doubt, mumble

Aa #5 works well if you load it on the higher end of the loads.

700X has proven to be the best in my 9mm, tightest groups and good on brass.

Ed you forgot to mention that 700x is also cheaper by wide margin

I've got some tubs of 700X in the closet, but it doesn't meter all that well for me. I'm burning through about 25 lbs of Titegroup at the moment. 3.2 gn Titegroup under 147g 9X19 flat-point, truncated cone. 1.155 COL. Seems to be working ok. 1.125 COL works about the same. In between it starts doing weird things.

Titegroup for cheap plinking loads of 115-124 grain.

HS6 or VV3N37 (preferred) for "serious" 124 grain loads.

Blue Dot for 147 grain loads. (5.7 grains has been remarkably accurate in several pistols, especially a Glock 26.)

I found my most accurate load for my sig and S&W 952 by shooting 100 shot groups at 88 yards. 4756 turned out to be the most accurate in my hand guns, but they ran out and can't get anymore. I had several large cans of 700X that I got a good deal on, tried it and found it provided excellent accuracy.

I noted that my Dillon did not throw extremely accurate weights of 700X so I tried measuring each load individually and compared these loads with groups where my Dillon SQD B measured the powder and did not find what I feel was a significant difference in group size.

Shot over 35,000 rounds one summer while recovering from surgery and decided 700 X was good enough for me.

I've been using nothing but HS6 for my 9mm reloads since I started reloading almost 30 years ago. Never found a reason not to like it or change.

I dont have a lot of e experience with other powders, but from Power Pistol, HS6, Unique, and HP38... HP38 seems like a great do-all pistol powder.

I have 3 favorites with 147 lead or coated. HS-6, CFE-P, and AA #2. All three have been nicely accurate at hovering around the 900 fps in a M&P 5" Pro Core, Carry Optic division in USPSA. I prefer the heavier pills in 9mm, steel goes down with authority Cool

No most accurate powder for 147 gr

All I use is hp38/win231. Sorry you're having issues. I only notice the smoke in videos.

After my batch of CFE-Pistol is gone, I’m going to try Sport Pistol. Works well in 40 and it’s easier to stock up on one powder then several but I’ll still have load data for the CFE-P.

I’ve used pretty much everything a pound or two at a time and they all work well enough for my bulk/range/local action match purposes. I have shot a lot of Red Dot, American Select, Unique, 231, and 16 lbs of WST. I LIKE WST the best overall simply because it meters well, is relatively clean, and is light gray in color so you can see it easier in the case when charging.
