Virginia - Per § 15.2-915 Local Governments can ban firearms in their buildings/Parks/Community Centers/Special Events etc. The Virginia Legislature gave them that authority by amending Virginia Code 15.2-915 which took effect July 1, 2020. https://law.lis.virginia.gov/v...er9/section15.2-915/ So we have added that info to the Virginia Page. For those interested in seeing those ordinances and their wording the links are below. We are hoping no more cities pass similar ordinances.

As the law states places off limits must be posted. Local Governments in Alexandria, Arlington County, Charlottesville, Fairfax County, Falls Church and Richmond have passed such ordinances. There could be others. Newport News only prohibits Open Carry on their properties.

The Virginia Citizens Defense League https://vcdl.org also keeps a listing of cities that have passed such ordinances and they do supply addition info for each city. . You can see their listing at https://vcdl.org/CarryInfo

New Mexico - Albuquerque has put out what they are calling “Administrative Instruction”

Titled “Noting the Applicability of State Law to Conditions to Entry to City of Albuquerque

Parks and Other Facilities.” They are saying that State Law gives them the right to post Parks and other facilities as they are “Schools!” This is/will be litigated and the local Prosecuting Attorney has dropped charges against one person and has ask the Attorney General of NM for an Opinion on this issue. Until then those in Albuquerque should use caution. You can see the Administrative Instructions at the link below.
