I have purchased 3 FIST holsters:

First a #9 http://www.fist-inc.com/galeryholst.htm

For my 229R, I didnt care for it. I think holsters should have a slide guard, but regardless the stiching was just decent and the holster was too tight of a fit. The boning allowed for little adjustment. I ordered cordorvan and it looked black. Not worth the money and I sold it.

Second, a #5 pocket for a NAA Guardian. Nice idea with the polymer thumb push-off, but in reality it makes the holster wider and stabs into your leg. I would have prefered more if it covered the entire trigger guard. Also it feels loose. for sale...lol - I have a mika pocket holster ordered.

Finally, I have #k2 high-ride for a PM9. I think this is a great holster for a small, lightweight gun. Retention is good, my PM9 seems to snap in. The kydex is thin, and it holds the gun close to the body. I would think it would be perfect for a baby Glock. The only issue; when I first tried to insert the PM9 the take down lever (that is a PITA on the Kahr anyways) got hung up on the leading edge of the holster's thin kydex. Fixed that with a lighter and some slight bending - so as to put a flare in it.

However, I dont care for the stitching on the kydex. I'm not sure why it couldnt be bonded somehow that would alivate the rubbing of the stiching on my belt and pants. This is a much closer riding OWB holster compared to any of my blade-tec's.

Overall, I would hightly recommend the #K2 to carry a small, light gun close to the body under a long shirt.

I'd be intersted to hear how close one of the safari land concealable holsters holds a 229. Specifically, one of the holsters with a rotating hood.

Thanks for the info. What was the turn around on these holsters? I don't get a warm feeling from their web site and their ordering process online is from the stone ages.

I ordered the #1AK model with the body protector for my P239 and it arrived in just over 2 weeks. Their ordering page is pretty primitive but there were no problems ordering. Great little holster for the money.

How do you think the 2K would work for a heavier weapon like a HK USPc or P229? Seems like a great concept if it wouldn't tilt from the weight.

Entropy - I'm the original FIST Holster Fanboy when it comes to their kydex IWB stuff, but, I had a 2K for my G19 and didn't like it. I found the belt loops to be so snug that getting it on and off a belt was a major hassle - and scraped up the leather on a nice gun belt. Once it was on, I didn't feel like it held the pistol as tight to my side as a good leather pancake; but, again, that's just one guy's opinion.

Regards,

Kevin

I used a lighter on the rough belt loop holes.

I wouldnt think it would be good for a heavy gun.

I really like their pocket holsters in kydex for Jframe Smith.

I have a kydex clip on for a mini glock. I think the 1K or some such number. While I much prefer my Kramer IWB I like the fist for when I have to take holster on and off, esp when seated in the car.

I do not wear it as IWB but rather between belt and waistband and can get away using this way as mini glock is short. And the clip is secure and again easy to get on and off as just make a big loop with my belt and slip inside. Can do seated in the car.

FIST IWB J Hook for the J frame is good for the money. I wear one for EDC. Down side is it wears bluing away faster than anything IMO. I tested it by doing a "fast" run thru a wooded trail and niether gun nor holster fell off. I bought it on sale at the gun/hardware shop for 24.99.
