I have always carried OWB (Sig P229, Glock 19, Kimber UC2), but have lost about 30 pounds over the past four months and think I can comfortably carry IWB. I have already covered previous posts but thought I would get some more feedback from the masters here, so I won't be adding more to the "box of holsters".
I am looking for a thin leather rig, canted, something comfortable all day, easy to put on and remove, and of course at a poor man's price. This is what I have found so far: Galco Summer Comfort http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterPT3.asp?ProductID=3612&CatalogID=7 High Noon Down Under http://www.highnoonholsters.com/Product_Line/_Down_Unde...wn_under_w_clip.html or maybe a Crossbreed SuperTuck http://www.crossbreedholsters.com/beltslide.html Any thoughts pro or con, other suggestions? Thanks _________________________________________ "The 2nd Amendment is the final latchkey that holds government accountable to WE THE PEOPLE. I have a SuperTuck for my P239 and it's very comfy and the price can't be beat. Crossbreed will have it out to you in about 2 weeks as well, unlike the months and months or even longer that some holsters take.

I'm a big fan of the Minotaur MTAC Holster. I carry my SP2022 and P229 in MTAC Holsters--very comfortable and concealable. An extra piece of leather on the back covers the screw mounts and is well worth the extra money for the comfort compared to their cheaper Minotaur Spartan Holster IMHO.
The Crossbreed Super-Tuck looks similar, but I've never owned one. Without seeing the "skin touching" side of the Super-Tuck, it may be more like the similarly priced Minotaur Spartan Holster. EDIT: I just read the Crossbreed super tuck/ Comptac Minotaur MTAC post after reading/replying to this one. I learned the Super-Tuck has exposed mounting hardware on the inside. My preference is to have it covered, but YMMV. P229 40S&W/9mm Bar-Sto, SP2022 9mm, & P232 380ACP |

If saving money is a big concern, look at the Bianchi model 100 series. I picked up one along with the pistol in a trade and it does the job very well |

+1 to the sixth power for the Crossbreed Supertuck!
Exposed hardware on the leather backer is a non-issue. If you don't have one, you have to try it! You'll be pleasantly surprised, I was! edit: Mine was a recent purchase after a High Noon which left a mark on my hip at 3:00 carry. This message has been edited. Supertuck is the best I've ever used! Great holsters, very comfortable, affordable.

I carry full size 1911s in a Kramer #3, Commander in a Kramer 1 1/2, and Browning HP in Milt Sparks Summer Special. All are comfortable and tuck in nicely around my 240 lb 6'4" frame (tucked better when it was 220 but WTH. Holsters are something that I wasted a lot of money on until I realized that one good one was worth more than 2-3 sorry ass ones. I still haven't bought some of the top $ ones but these products suit my purposes nicely.

+1 on MTAC, super comfortable for all day walking around or sitting in a vehicle, and clips on and off a belt in seconds.
The only thing I don't like about it is that the retention gets a little loose after awhile. Not recommended if you plan on wrestling alligators or doing handsprings. Forensic Science: If you can't keep the peace, keep the pieces. |

Yeh, you get what you pay for in the VMII in approximately 6 to 8 months from the point of order. So essentially, if you opt for a VMII its definitely gonna be expensive because you'll likely have to order something else to use for the half a year it will take to get the VMII. Since cost is a concern, you'll need to shake off the Milt Sparks is king routine. My suggestion, go buy a CompTac MTAC. It will run ya $80 and take a week to get. It's as comfortable as any IWB I've ever had (and I've owned a bunch), and I have two for my two different carry guns. The SuperTuck is nice too, but my personal preference is for the MTAC. The "poor mans VM2" is called the Desantis Cozy Partner. Heck the VM2 doesn't even have adjustable tension. Mine is super comfortable even while driving.

Actually, you can bend the metal throat to your desired setting. |

If you're willing to expand your horizons to kydex, I strongly suggest Peters Custom Holsters; he made a PPS holster for me, and it became my favorite overnight; where Galco, DeSantis, et al. were uncomfortable, I almost forget I'm wearing this one.

I ordered an UBG Striker I due to some positive comments I read here. Pretty much can't wait. Been a month now so I hope to hear something soon. Business must be good in the holster business.

I really like the Mitch Rosen ARG, I had one for a 2340 and loved it. It is a very ridged holster and stays open for easy reholstering. Check them out on www.mitchrosen.com I had the express model and it worked very well.

I have to concur regarding the MR Express. I have a UPL Express for my Glock 26, and it works great for me.
I tried a Versa-Max II and I just can't do the IWB thing, but that's just me. Glock 26 |
