I am interested in purchasing an owb or combo that can be used owb or iwb. I would be interested in leather or some of kydex leather combo. I kind of like the hybrid type holsters because if you change guns you can just order a new kydex holster and not replace the whole system. Also the hybrid systems have different strap systems so one holster can be a shoulder rig or a tactical leg holster or owb etc. but you only buy the system you want not the holster. Does any body have good experience with these compared to just leather holsters? I am willing to spend some money on a good rig but i want something that works good and is comfortable. I prefer owb with a long shirt but i kind of like the idea of taking that same holster and changing it to a tactical leg rig or a shoulder holster. Oh by the way this would be for a P229 SAS TT on 40 cal. open to any suggestions. thanks

One single holster design can be made to do many things, but is not likely to do any of those things very well.

Every holster design involves compromises among the four major factors: 1. comfort, 2. accessibility, 3. security (retention), 4. concealability.

Only the user can decide exactly how much of one factor he is willing to compromise in order to maximize another factor.

Best regards.

I'll add my concurrence to Lobo.

Get a couple of good quality holsters that will allow you to do carry how you want to.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. There are some in the holster business who have been able to successfully make holsters which can function in different situations, such as IWB or OWB use by the same holster. I, for one, would not make or sell a holster to a customer that did not function as designed. I've successfully designed and manufactured the particular design being discussed here.

Checkout Raven Concealment at the malabarfront.com. I wear them for all my sig's. My 1911 is the only pistol I will carry in leather. Kydex "could" scratch the pistol, and I don't want my hard chrome'd Kimber getting scratched. Sig's, I'm not worried about, they can always be reblue'd, and the crakote tends to hold up on my P226R and P228R.

Just do a google search, and then go to image's.
