Hello,
I'm going to be getting my ccw pretty soon and I am in the market for some IWB holsters. I have decided between these two holsters but I am leaning more towards the MTAC since the rivets are covered, you can interchange the kydex bodies, and because the shipping time is faster. The only problem is that both of these don't have the firearm I'm interested in carrying, a p6, listed. Do any of you know if substituting a p228 body would work for the p6 or any other body styles? I can highly recommend the CrossBreed Supertuck. I special ordered one for my P6, and got a holster that fits a P226. Well I responded, and Mark made it right by getting a mold for a P225, and SENDING ME A NEW HOLSTER!
The fit is very comfortable, and I've never felt the rivets, although they could be easily covered with moleskin. This is the best holster I've ever used. |

I love my MTAC. I carry my 220 in it. You may want to call Comp-tac and see if they can make a body for your pistol.

Well I got an answer back from CompTac. They said that they don't make a body for the 225 and do not recommend any of the other bodies to substitute. I find that a little old since the CTAC has a p225 body.
I guess I'm going with the Supertuck then. My main concern about that holster were the rivets. As I live in florida (HEAT+HUMIDITY) I mainly just wear a shirt (untucked) and pants. Was a bit worried that the rivets would get annoying as you start to sweat a bit. |

I had an MTAC for my P220R, and was in a similar situation as you. I needed an IWB for my S&W 3913, and an MTAC body was not offered. I ended up ordering a Crossbreed SuperTuck instead. They quote 3-4 weeks on their website, but mine arrived in a little over 2 weeks.
While the Supertuck does have uncovered rivets, they are nicely buried into the leather backing, and there is no difference in comfort between the two. And even after sweating on my Supertuck for many hours at a time, I've had no issues with the rivets. In fact, since the Crossbreed uses only a single thickness of leather, and leaves the hardware uncovered, it ends up being slighly thinner than the MTAC, which might make it easier to carry IWB for some people. The MTAC is slightly higher quality, but both are excellent holsters. I would recommend investing in a set of Comp-Tac clips for your SuperTuck, though. The standard clips on the SuperTuck are functional, but aren't nearly as secure as their Comp-Tac counterparts. I would also recommend investing the extra money in the horsehide backing for the SuperTuck, since you're planning on sweating on it quite regularly. Horsehide is a bit more resistant to moisture than cowhide leather. You should also take a look at the Crossbreed Tuckable Mag Holder while you're at it. It's extremely comfortable and unobtrusive when used with sinlge-stack magazines, like the kind used by your P6/P225. ______________________ "Cuff him. Then wash your hands." - Sgt. TJ Hooker |

+1 for my Supertuck.
I didn't want to buy one originally 'cuz I didn't like the look. I changed my mind after my High Noon IWB made a deep impression on my hip after several hours of carry. Now, I'll take function over form any day! ------------------------------------------------------------ Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. Yup, I have 3 supertucks and they're the best holsters I've ever had.

You can't feel the rivets. Don't worry about it.

If you haven't ordered yet, look at the option of having the extra leather at the handgrip cut away. I had real issues getting my hand securely on the grip for a proper draw stroke. I had a local leather shop do the cutaway; it is a considerable improvement for me.
Also, take some fine sandpaper or emery cloth to the edges of the kydex; mine had a couple rough spots that sanded right out. I also made a very small relief where the middle finger intersects the grip and trigger guard. __________________________ O God, give me these boons Never shall I shirk from doing good deeds Never shall I fear when I go to fight the enemy And with surety I shall attain victory - Guru Gobind Singh. |
