I stopped off at this range a couple of times just to browse. The first time, I had my guns and I was going to try the programable range, but they were only 20 minutes or so from closing. I will be visiting this range on a regular basis. BTW, welcome to the forum nsnate02 |

Guns & Leather is awesome. I drive from the other side of Nashville to do business with them rather than the yahoos in between.

I think TN would be well served by a group like Georgia Carry, seeing as how the TFA has failed to get restaurant carry and other changes.

If you're going to be 45 minutes north of Nashville, you should just live in KY. Cheaper taxes and better gun laws. Look up the IDPA circuit when you get here, we shoot every weekend within a hour or so of Springfield, TN.

Really? I'd sure love to see the numbers, especially for the taxes. |

Better gun laws? Yes IMO, but only as far as carry in resturants is concerned. Cheaper taxes? Hardly. Sales tax is lower to be sure, but when you count in little things like State income tax, which must be paid even if you are not a resident, not so great. My wife works in KY (in a Federal job no less) and does nothing but drive about 20 miles on KY roads, yet she pays several thousand dollars a year for the privilage. Plus she has to pay city tax for a sticker on her car otherwise the city Police give you a ticket. Then figure in the nice little things like paying ownership tax on the value of your cars every year and the low sales tax more than evaporates. |

UPDATE...
I'm finally here. We arrived last weekend. Went to church Sunday and Wednesday and carried both times. It is comforting to know that I can now carry in my house of worship. In Michigan, we are not allowed unless the pastor gives permission. We also went to Kentucky a couple times because of the resturant / alcohol law in TN. All I can say is that it is much more peaceful than Detroit. There are no family feuds at 2 AM in the middle of the street, no loud stereos, no gunshots, no drug deals in front of our house. This is a little peace of heaven. We sat on our deck and looked at the stars and we listened to the crickets and other bugs. We are going to enjoy this. Thank you, God, for your many blessings. |

Its too hot here and the housing prices are outrageous around the area I'm in...so we're moving back north. By god I'm going to miss the gunlaws here.

Glad you made it OK. We're about to go into a very pleasant time of the year. If you don't need to be entertained and can get used to the slower pace, I'll think you'll enjoy living around here. |

I believe if you attend a church, in Tennessee, which has a school on its premises, it then falls under the "no-carry ANYTIME" law unless you are only there to drop off/pick up someone, stay in the vehicle, and don't handle the weapon, while on the premises(parking lot). At the very least, it's a gray area.
