Mississippi - Judges in Mississippi were saying that they had the authority to ban firearms in their Courtroom and the whole Courthouse the Courtroom was in. Regular permit holders are not allowed to carry in the Courthouses but those with a Mississippi Enhanced Permit are allowed by law. At least that is the way the law reads to everyone but the Judges. The Mississippi Supreme Court that everyone was right and the Court Judges were wrong. You can read the ruling at this link. http://www.handgunlaw.us/docum...rryInCourtHouses.pdf

New Jersey - Magazine limit reduced from 15 to 10 rounds max. This bill also took effect immediately but there is a 180 day grace period to render inoperable, relinquish or remove the illegal magazines from the state. Only exception is for tube fed 22 cal rifles.

New York and especially New York City - The NY Supreme Court upheld the conviction of a person of carrying a “Switchblade Knife.” Thing is that so called switchblade knife was an assisted opening knife that a guy had clipped in his back pocket. Knife Rights https://kniferights.org/ who is fighting for knife rights like the Gun Groups are fighting for gun rights has been stating for a long time not to carry an assisted opening knife in NY City as they have arrested tens of thousands over the years for carrying an assisted opening knife calling it a switchblade. You can read the ruling at http://www.handgunlaw.us/docum...rezueta_06072018.pdf

www.handgunlaw.us does have a listing of states and cities with links to their knife laws/ordinances. Many people who legally carry a firearm carry a folder type knife. Handgunlaw.us only tries to deal with laws that concern those carrying a folder type knife and no other kinds. It is not all comprehensive but gives people a place to start in researching the laws in states and especially cities where they live or visit. After compiling this list of knife laws I quit carrying a folder type knife and started carrying a multipurpose tool. It is made to be used as a tool. A knife is just a tool but then we see how they treat the tool that fires ammunition. Knife laws in most states are not preempted and they can vary greatly from city to city within a state. http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/USKnife.pdf
