Anybody have any experience with the First Light Liberator or Tomahawk flashlights? See here: http://www.diamondbacktactical.com/First-Light-C338.aspx

I was particularly looking at the Tomahawk. It seems like it would be best compromise between a weapons dedicated and handheld flashlight.

Thanks in advance.

I have both, but have only had the Tomahawk for about 2 weeks, so I'm still low on the learning curve. They are very well made, high quality lights on par with anything Surefire makes.

Both really need the user to be willing to try new techniques becaue they are radically different than any other light on the market. If a person is open to learn the lights, IMHO they will be valuable tools.

The only downside, beside the price, is that both, particularly the Liberator, are "bulky" and require some extra considerations for carrying. In the Liberator's defense, I believe the expectation is that it be worn on the hand most of the time, and not on the belt.

I ordered up a dozen of these with "end of year" money. Unfortunately, they haven't come in yet; would really have liked to give them a workout on the trip I'm leaving on tomorrow...

After we've tested them in live and Sims Force on Force environments, I'll let y'all know how they work.

Regards,

Kevin
