I have a Milt Sparks Versa Max II for my 1911 and I find it really comfortable to wear. Every once in a while, it seems that the butt of the gun is printing against my polo shirt.I think the problem is I don't have a proper gun belt. Now I realize that my 1911 is pretty short so there is not a lot of barrel sticking below my belt but I think a better belt would help.
The issue you guys can help me with is finding a belt that matches what style of clothes I wear so I stay below the radar. I normally wear blue jeans or slacks with a solid brown wide belt from Gap. All of the gun belts I have seen don't fit that style.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Order a belt from Milt Sparks. Or the Beltman. Or, my favorite, Mitch Rosen.

I freaking love my Beltman belt. I have a black 1 1/2inch 7 hole belt and I am going to be getting the same thing in brown pretty soon.

(countryboy on this forum. Makes good stuff. I like the looks of the "NATURAL" for Jeans but I think some of his other brown dye would work best.)

I own 3 beltman belts and have no problems with them holding my govt model where it belongs. Ryan's leather is top notch and while I have not had the pleasure of one of his belts, I WILL say that his quality work would make it a very safe bet. And he will do more custom type stuff than I imagine the beltman will. (and get it to you faster, based on current turn around times.)

There are others, but these are my experiences with my 40+ oz 1911. Smile

I'm wearing one of these now, one of Bison Designs' - the "Last Chance Heavy Duty" belt. I like it, but it's not very stylish, so definitely get yourself a custom belt. You can also get one from forum member "countryboy".

I was looking for the same type of belt you were looking for when I started out. This is what I'm wearing now.

I've worn Galco, Mitch Rosen, and (currently) Beltman belts. Each one was well made, although the Galco seemed to (I hesitate to use the word, but it's the best I can come up with) wear faster than the Rosen did. The dye faded faster and the leather itself became less stiff much faster. The Beltman belt is around a year or so old and I love it.

If you need something right now, he Galco is a good option. if you don't mind a wait, I can't say enough about my Beltman belt. My only regret was not buying it a size bigger. I mistakenly bought it a size smaller, with the delusion I'd lose weight. Needless to say, that hasn't happened yet, lol.

This is my experience as well. But it was a good starter belt.

Couple of years ago I would have said Rafter S, I LOVE their belts-but not the wait.

Beltman is great but on some Milt holsters the loops are too small.

YMMV

Wilderness belt for jeans and a Beltman belt for dress pants.

Get one of each and all bases are covered.

A proper belt makes a significant difference when carrying a weapon.

I have 2 belts from The Beltman. He makes a good belt.

However, my new go-to belt guy is Al from A&G. I have 4 of his belts already. Quality is equal to The Beltman, prices are comparable, and customer service is second to none.

I like my Beltman belts just like everyone else. He does make a good product.

I recently purchased a 5.11 tactical trainer, which is a 1 1/2" nylon belt that is very similar to the belts made by Wilderness products.

I love this belt, so much so, that I plan on buying their "operator" belt which is 1 3/4" wide.

I use a Wilderness, a Rafter and a Galco. I highly recommend all of them. That said, my next belt will be from the Beltman based on all of the satisfied customers here at SIGforum.

I have a Beltman cowhide w/o insert and a Wilderness belt with kydex. The Beltman is my favorite of all my belts (gun belt or no) and pretty much the only belt I wear now.

Both work well, although the velcro and general tactical look of the Wilderness belt irritate my wife.
