Is there anyone on SF in the CO area that would want to teach and certify myself and Dianna22fl for teaching Basic Pistol and CCW?
I've looked into 2 schools for this, and both want $600.00 apiece to get us started. I'm just wondering if there's anyone here on SF that would like to teach us, since we're one community? Thank you! Where in CO are you? If in the Denver area, you might try Silver Bullet. Call them and ask to speak to Manual. I'm not sure if they still do instructor training anymore, but they did a few years ago I believe. Not sure of the cost though.

I have no idea what Colorado's requirements are for CCW instructors, but I would suggest getting in touch with the NRA about finding a Training Counselor in your area and becoming an NRA certified instructor.

We are in the W Denver area. I personally have spoken with ProFire and they seem very knowledgeable and they seem to be quite legitimate. I was just wondering if there's someone from SF who might want to get together on this, if not to teach maybe even join in on taking the class with us. We actually like to start teaching this semi-full time, otherwise known as part-time maybe accounting for about 20hrs per week of work. Last I knew Silver Bullet may not be ideal for this, but thank you Storm for the suggestion. xm15, yes this would mean I would get NRA certified, but ProFire seems to have thee most reputable and complete program around for this.
I've already got my career lined out, this is on the side and completely private compared to my full-time career. Take Care, God Bless, and be safe! ~AdkMtnGuy "Pain is your friend, it lets you know you're still alive and therefore you've still got fight left in you..." -me |

i think you just need to take the NRA course for teaching basic pistol. all that is needed for ccw here is the basic pistol course and pass the background.

Yes that's all that's required for CO, which is nice, but we personally believe you SHOULD have more than that, an awareness of the basic self-defense laws (including arson) and some general advice and guidance towards starting to carry concealed and the concept, mindset, tactics, and clothing, etc. and all about your life that will change when you begin doing so. We would like to teach additional classes and evolutions as time ticks on, we'd like to offer it all up front, but that sounds cost-prohibited at this point. I personally can offer more but that comes with my career field and such, which means I can offer this additional training and state that it's not "NRA-approved" simply because it's not one of their courses, yet I'll bet my class on this would likely be better than the NRA course. I would rather offer the NRA course though to have another thing under my belt.
