Now the grenades don't go as far so you can't shower an objective while en-route. Pulling your weapon out after sprinting is noticeably slower and pulling up the irons or optic is even slower still which in online games has meant less of the run and gun. Also shooting on the move makes you far less accurate. In CoD 4 shooting on the move didn't result in a great loss of accuracy, where is now it does. In a lot of ways it seems as if IW has forced the player back to principals of cover and concealment. However, that doesn't mean there won't be people running and gunning still, even with the penalties in place. So 360 degree security is still important so you don't get a throwing knife in the back by some sneaky flanker. All and all this version is once again the best yet.

Thanks. That does sound pretty good. Looking forward to trying it out.

No, but honestly, it somewhat surprises me that there is still any market for PC versions of new games like this one, considering the popularity of laptop computers these days versus desktops and the low entry price and huge convenience factor of a new gaming box like the Xbox 360 Arcade.

Thank God! I hated playing COD4 and get to a HQ and 15 grenades bounce off my head from people halfway across the map.

This almost sounds reassuring. A nice compromise between OFDR and COD4.

Consoles are fun but I think the reason people still find PC version so appealing is because of the control ability. Not like keyboard\mouse Vs. game pad but the control over what can and cannot be done in the game.

Will Vista Premium 64bit/Win7 with 8gb of RAM and a 2.10ghz processor run this? I haven't bought a PC game for years but this looks like it might be fun.

You might need to pick up a descent video card.

Sounds like if you can run COD4, then you are OK. They used the same engine but tweaked it some.

Bah! I'm thinking I've been shafted by the video card gods again. I bet it won't run on my rig. I'm always one stinking upgrade behind.

Get a console and don't worry about it. The money you spend on one good video card, you could buy an xbox 360 with.

Know if they're big maps? i.e. anything like Bad Company maybe? I like how there's room to move in that game. Regardless, I'll be getting it and I'm sure it'll be fun and challenging.

They are not the size of BFBC maps..not by a long shot. The maps are a mix of big maps with open spaces (suitable for long range shooting and sniping) and CQB maps (for the shoot and scoot types). So the maps should make everyone happy.

Kegger, "big maps" is a relative phrase. LOL How do the "big" maps on MW2 compare with the traditional sniper maps on COD4, like "Overgrown", "Bog" and "Creek"? Are the new ones bigger?

I'd be happy with maps the size of the COD: World at War maps.
