In the original miniseries we learned that fairly early, before there even was a real opposition.

Yeah, but the opposition still took time to develop, though, once people started getting suspicious and fed up with the heavy-handed behaviour by the Visitors. The fact they were lizzards was really only secondary once they found out they were here to eat us.

In the new one, there is opposition to them even BEFORE they make official contact. . .

That's because there are people on Earth that already know the Visitors have been here for years and already know they are lizards.

I just watched the original mini and they get into it pretty quick. Donovan pulls the face off in the first hour of the original series, by the second hour, the local resistance is pretty established. In V: The Final Battle it is revealed that there already is a much bigger resistance (Michael Ironside) and Donovan and Julie's group goes with him.

The new one is well done, I'm looking forward to the rest.

Ok, I'm going to say it, Bacarat looks like shit on this show.

Really almost like she had surgery to screw up her face by having her lower jaw shrunk.

Now then let's talk about the visitors that have supposedly been living as humans and getting married and whatnot. Wouldn't that be equivalent to beastiality for them? Yeah, I'm a reptile, but I just can't resist boinking those mammals.

If I remember correctly from the original, the relationships were used as a form of control to gain sympathy for the Visitors.

2nd week and still no eating of small rodents? If this keeps up, we'll have to start sending the "Vs" catfood. Smile

Well, they had the 'Visitor Friends'; the Hitler Youth equivalent.

I think in this one, they are just living 'on the lamb' and trying to just pretend they are human. Like that black dude; he was just trying to live a 'normal' human life with his girlfriend. Kind of dumb, though - sooner or later, she was bound to find out he was a lizard. I mean, do they even eat normal food? In the original (just watched Part 1 last night), the visitors didn't eat 'human food', only a little raw vegetables. And, they were colder-skinned (body temp) than humans.

Here, they are unbelievably human-like.

Yeah of all the visitors on the show why did they have to try and make her fugly. She was hot in Firefly and SG-1 but now you can totally tell she's an alien.

I think the shows getting better and better, although it's moving a bit too fast for my taste (damn you ADD generation!)I really like how everyone on Earth is starting to turn on each other with distrust and suspicion.

Anybody else feel like they're watching another episode of Lost? Some kind of flash forward, and you know Benjamin is on that ship somewhere?

Funny you should use the term "flash forward". I get that feeling while watching the show Flash Forward. there are at least three actors from LOST on it.

I am also feeling the Lost, Flash Forward connection here. There is no question I will not stop watching Lost, especially the final upcoming season. However, I almost feel as though I need to choose between V or Flash Forward because of the similarities. At this point, there is no comparison....its V all the way. I think I'm hooked.
