Anyone else heard about this show? Apparently its a remake of an old 80's show that only made one season. Has an anti Obama message so I doubt we'll actually get to see it but looks like it could be cool.

Link to clip

Oh and the best part it has Morena Baccarin of Serenity fame.

You lost me at "remake". Don't get me wrong BSG and the recent Star Trek movie shows it can work, but there have been too much recycled crap coming out Hollywood lately.

Change we can believe in? Cool

Doesn't look half bad, but I think the 80s version will still be far better. . .

V? I remember they had a very swastika-looking symbol for the aliens. Like a squared off S with two dots on the side. I wonder if they'll do an alien-stylized hammer and sickle this time. lol

Hope we get the green babies this time around. Razz

I thought that there was more than one season because the birth of an alien baby was a cliff hanger between the first and second, I could be wrong. I also seem to remember Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger) being one of the aliens.

[edit] I looked it up. There was an original mini-series and then a TV series that lasted one season. I guess I was kind of right and sort of wrong.

Also found a pic of the alien swastika:

Me too... and was disappointed when it was cancelled. Maybe this one will be more successful.

I'm still on my BSG remake high, so I'm hoping they do this one right.

I wonder if they can work Michael Ironside in somehow... Big Grin

There was a 3-episode mini-series, which ended with a cliff-hanger.

THEN, there was another 3-episode mini-series later (not sure how long the wait was) that ended the story line, with the 'red dust' killing off or driving off all the lizards.

THEN, after another waiting period, there was the really lame-o-matic tv series which just plain sucked.

Robert Eglund played 'Willie', a 'good' alien who came over to the side of the human resistance movement. He was really close to a blond waitress or something like that.

Yes, that all sounds very familiar.

I hear you, most everything is a remake or sequal, not too many new ideas these days.

"V" was alright, but the remake I'd really like to see is "The Invaders"! (Loved how the aliens were infiltrating everywhere. Wink)

Are you serious? Morena could order me around like Salma ordered Quentin in Dusk til Dawn.

I'm a huge fan of the original miniseries, I like about half of The Final Battle (the second miniseries), and didn't like any of the TV season. I like that they are going back to this, but I'm already put off by the changes they have made. The enormous mother ships were awesome and the new design looks silly to me. It makes me think they'll probably change everything else, from the uniforms to the weapons, both of which were very cool. The weapons in particular were great designs and very modular. I don't just want a show, however good, that is "V" in name only (VINO) a la Bourne series. I'd like to be able to watch it and recognize the show. I wish it well, but if it's good it'll be canceled. That's how TV works these days.

The mini-serieses gave me some of the worst nightmares of my youth. The series was pretty lame. It would be interesting if they did in fact turn the anti-nazi allusions in the original into a straight anti-socialist message, but I doubt that happens.

I don't have audio on my computer, but please tell me that the party of five kid isn't supposed to be Michael Donovan.

I loved the mini-series and Final Batttle and to a lesser extent the regular series when it was on TV. I'm a little worried that the original creator, Kenneth Johnson, isn't involved in this project but I'm open to the new direction that this new series will take. I wish that they would use some of the characters from the original instead of starting from scratch.
