So my family and I started binge-watching this. We're on S1E6 - so....

Characters -
What a bunch of bullshit. Let's look at the Robinson family. Hyper-intelligent wife, and oldest daughter. Husband is a grunt with a few good ideas. The middle daughter is funny, cute, and a mechanic, apparently. The boy, dumb as rocks with a few good ideas.

Dr. Smith - Was a man who couldn't help himself and a strong woman stole his identity. She's crafty. I hate her. Great job by Parker.

The leader of the group - Dumb as rocks and is a snake.

The love-interest of Penny. Dumb as rocks and can't be trusted.

The only smart male on the entire fucking show is the Japanese scientist. But his wife is the smart one. And apparently the pilot of their Jupiter.

Don - Dumb as rocks with a few good ideas. And he's a capitalist. Greedy bastard!

The robot - awesome robot who's dumb as rocks. And yes, it's referred to as a "he".

As far as the show goes, we are enjoying it. It's taking time to get used to the complete differences from the original show and the movie.

Not sure how you're lost in space when in reality, all you are is stranded. But maybe that changes now that their planet is going to be 'reset' and their mothership is talking about bugging out.

Everyone now seems to know dr. smith is evil yet no one thinks to tell dumb-ass Will. LoL.

It will be interesting to see how the robot becomes the life-long friend of the family and the fake dr. smith continues on...

I think the entire first season is a set up for what happens next, (just gonna leave that at that, no spoilers)

not gonna comment on your character analysis until you watch it all, but do agree, Dr Smith is an evil crazy beotch,,, and Parker does a fantastic job playing that role

That's the standard pattern now for a while:

Women in shows: they are strong, courageous, all leadership roles

Men in shows: idiots who cant get out of their own way, lovable doofuses, not leaders

It was those stupid men who stole the alien technology. See, the aliens aren't bad, they're just pissed and want it back.

When the one daughter went against orders and chose to save the kid plugging the trailer rather than wait for the fuel to be transferred and saving EVERYONE else, I was done.

I hate stupid emotional bs writing on shows with decisions that should be rather cold and calculated especially by those who would be in that position in the first place.

Just finished binge-watching all 10 episodes. Yup...all the comments are spot on to include the one where someone said they fast-forward through the Dr. Smith bullshit. It just got to be too friggin' much, so I did the same thing. I think this is the first time I've seen anything with Posey, so I have to give her credit...she makes me want to punch her character right in the throat.

If they ramp up a Season 2, it should be kinda interesting. I'll stick with it for now...

I went to high school with Parker Posey (of course that wasn't her name...). She was a good girl, few years difference in age, but definitely very dramatic back then. Most of her energy was spent on theatre and acting in school and local playhouses.
