I took the kids to see it. They love non-stop action. They are able to look past the believability. I recall during the last movie when they parachuted out of the plane in cars my son whispered, "Why not just drive up a day early and wait?" But hey it's all in good fun for a moment of non-thinking entertainment.

And yeah, I'd pick a Lambo for driving on an ice sheet, sure...

These go to eleven.

My oldest son played in a basketball tournament in another state yesterday and he had a game early in the morning then not again until late afternoon so the coach decided we would all go see this together

Holy shit this was awful

I admittedly am not a huge fan of the franchise

(I don't get how a bunch of dudes in cars is the way to accomplish these missions...spoiler alert...a delta like team and a freaking helicopter get the EMP out probably without being noticed.....oh, and if you're in a room with a bunch of people that will want to kill you and they're all incapacitated and you have a gun...KILL THEM FIRST)

I guess if you're not going to obey any other laws why should the laws of physics be any different

My 14 year old son and his friends walked out of the movie at the halfway mark and when I went to pick them up they were at the mall across the street LOL.

Yeah, if I wanted to pull off a covert mission using a car I'd be driving a grey four door Chevy or something equally boring looking,

You got no style. You gotta be like my man, Roman.

Roman's car at the end of Furious 7 was in fact a grey four-door Chevy! He drove a 1987 Caprice during the ridiculous L.A. battle.

I just watched this POS. I’ve seen all of these now, all on cable. I’ve never paid for the theater viewing, and they got bad enough to not even get on disc via Netflix. This deal was so unbelievable it was ridiculous. Y’all were street racing, mixing it up with the Feds, now it’s subamarines, nuclear codes, emp’s, fighting the Russians, E2 like surveillance jets, hacking, multiethnic cast saving the whole world. It’s like the street racing Avengers. Horrible dialogue, especially the Rock’s lines. Dumb ludicrous story, bad acting, directing, even the cgi looks terrible.

So I look up financials, this POS made almost a billion dollars. I mean it’s up there with Star Wars and SuperHo films. Has the world gone completely stupid? These terrible films, passed off as action films (Tranformers comes to mind), are you kidding me? I mean each year that passes by they just get worse. I’m wondering if the world is truly entering Idiocracy. Helen Mirren and Cherlize Theron we’re both in this and obviously just to get paid. They are both good actresses, especially Mirren, and make money doing solid work so I don’t know why they’d sign on to do this.

My concern is the continual downgrade in quality. I mean the summer action films used to at least be fun and respectable back in the Stallone, Arnold days. There’d be some redeeming qualities. This stuff is pure trash. I’m not surprised it wasn’t good, that’s on par, but the degree of shit is on a new level. So this rant ain’t just about this deal, it’s about the industry. Pacific Rim sequels, Maze Runner Trilogy, I mean it’s becomimg laughable how bad it is getting. A billion dollar profit while good films with art quality acting, directing, cinematography, etc. struggle to make a dime. I guess the lowest common denominator is the new norm. This is why I hustle in December and January to see 10-15 films, all up for Oscar consideration, then don’t go to the theater for another 11 months.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

I get it with the teenagers, but these people are in there mid 30s.

There is a market for ridiculous movies.

My and my friends' rationale for watching these is simple: babes, car porn, and to make fun of the stunts. They're borderline comedies. There's a market for this.

Don't believe me? I've got one word for you:

Sharknado.

No shit right...?

I had recently checked-in to my hotel room and started to unpack. I turn on the TV and flip it over to one of the HBO/Showtime/Starz channels and low & behold, its the final action scenes to this movie.

Good lord...holy shit...what the f&*( is this shit?!?

A heard of cars...being chased by a Russian submarine...on the ice, under the ice...being remotely controlled from a private jet...which shoots a torpedo that leaps onto the ice...that can also launch a 'HEAT SEEKER!' missile...which smashes into the sail of the submarine...which ends up destroying said sub.

I'm just gonna stick to admiring Jordan Brewster and Gal Gadot, that is all.

The eighth epic iteration of this series of horribly awesome movies is even more horrible and less awesome than its predecessors. Hang onto your butts, cuz this movie sucks (by FF standards).

I admit I didn't watch every one of the predecessors but I actually kind of liked this one.
YMMV
