FWIW, the picture in the original post isnt Nash Bridges, its Sonny Crockett, and its not a 1911, its a S&W 4506, which Crockett carried after Miami Vice season 2 when Dornhaus and Dixon and the Bren 10 went kaboom (he carried the 645 before the 4506 hit, then switched to the 4506)

Looks like a 1911-style to me.

It's a S&W 1911 so it doesn't really count. Razz

On one episode of Jesse Stone, I saw his 1911 had the Thunder Ranch grips on it.
Dennis Farina was 1911 equipped during Crime Story.

Your right about the S&W with Starsky and in the pilot it was a 1911.

Mike Franks on NCIS.
Gibbs also carries one from time to time.

Gibbs has been carrying his dad's 1911 the last several episodes, maybe all last season.

From the ones I liked watching or remember off hand...

DiNozzo carried a compact 1911 as a detective in Baltimore in season 8
Agent Granger carried the FBI professional in Numbers for at least a couple seasons
Kimbers on pretty much the whole front line cast of SWAT reboot
I do believe Raylan shot Boyd Crowder with a 1911 in the pilot of Justified.
Yes Nash Bridges had a custom commander size 38 super with compensator
Jesse stone carried a 1911, though I thought it was the gunsite eagle(?) and not thunder ranch's logo... been wrong before I guess.
Selleck also had a 1911...
In the movie Killers, as Ashton Kutcher's FIL.
While playing the billionaire owner of the casino in the last season of Las Vegas
And of course as Magnum, P.I.

That is what I can think of currently.

A Perpetual Disappointment...

The gentleman that Redleg06 pictured: Haynie Joaquin Jackson, is who Nick Nolte shadowed for a few weeks when he was making the movie Extreme Prejudice.

I read that Nick Nolte even went and bought a .45 Colt Commander, just like the one owned by Jackson, including the custom grips and also an identical holster to carry the gun, to use it in the film.

Actually they were Gunsite grips, I believe Mr. Selleck has trained there.

I remember him telling Suit it was a Delta Elite, or at least he said it was 10mm. Don't remember which episode, since it's my girlfriend who's a fan, not me.

Gibbs on NCIS seems to like his 1911 while everyone else on his team uses a SIG.

Well, agency regulations are more like "suggestions" when it comes to Gibbs.

I'm not as UP on "Crime Story" as others here...

Dennis Farina carried a 1911 and IIRC he at times carried TWO.

I seem to recall a big shootout in maybe a Department Store, where he emptied one to slide lock, threw it down and pulled out another one.

Or am I losing it?

Actually, the real NCIS has a broad personally owned weapons policy that a few years ago included 1911s.
