Ive already seen CSI Miami, Dollhouse, Castle and or course FireFly.

I really need a good action series because I watch them while doing my cardio on the Eliptical, Tread Mill and Stairmaster.

Ive noticed that I really get my heart beat up when watching these types of shows, so help me out guys, what do you recommend?

Seasons 1 and 2: AWESOME!

Goes a bit downhill from there (lots of mamadrama with the wives.)

Also, look into Leverage, Fringe, and Sons of Anarchy.

I loved Burn Notice too.

Battlestar Galactica is another great show that has what you're looking for. Like many other shows, the quality of writing is pretty inconsistent (season 3), but overall it's a great series.

Band of Brothers is absolutely brilliant and completely action packed, but its a miniseries - only a dozen or so episodes.

Fringe is alright I think. A million times better than Lost, and the same dude is at the head of both. Lost completely turned me off to the guy's style, so I may be prejudiced on this one.

I've heard good things about Heroes, but I lost interest after a couple of seasons.

Other than that, not much comes to mind that has that level of action and drama that strings you along like a rollercoaster without being mind-numbingly awful (like 24 or the aforementioned Lost). I can name off a handful of brilliant TV serieses, but not many that maintain that level of action. Top Gear for instance. Best TV show in the history of the world, but no action to speak of on this kind of scale.

Dexter is another example, but it might fit. Awesome show, one of the best, but admittedly it's not very action packed. It's sort of contemplative for the most part, but when the action does come, it is absolutely breathtaking (The "I own you" bit, anyone?).

Jericho's got some weak points, mostly in the 2nd season since they had to rush through things to get to a decent conclusion.

I own all the seasons on DVD and have watched them twice (after seeing each episode on TV).

After awhile you actually become emotionally invested. Great show.

I agree with The Shield and The Unit.

Also, I'd look into the BBC show MI:5 (called Spooks in the UK). It's WAYYYYYYY up at the top of my favorite TV shows.

Here's the first season on Amazon. 30 bucks is a good deal. They're like 60 when they are first released.

Enjoy the past seasons of "The Unit" as it got cancelled, check out "Sons Of Anarchy" best show on TV at the moment. "Generation Kill" is another worth watching. "Life" also cancelled was a great shot too. At least, "Burn Notice" will be back.
