Yes, I read Cathedral when I was 13 and have been hooked ever since.

Read all of those authors with the exception of Sandford. You might like to try Stephen Leather as well.

I really enjoyed Cathedral, and though I had some technical problems with The Lion's Game I found it to be an enjoyable read as well. I keep meaning to read The General's Daughter.

I've liked all his stuff. Read Charm School several times, a great look into the Cold War world. Very scary stuff.

I like DeMille and have read most of his books. But one thing annoys me: John Corey, the ex NYPD detective who's in many of the NYC and Long Island books, is too perfect. He wins every fight, never makes a mistake, and always has perfect wise-ass snappy comebacks.

Just like me. NOT!

Yeah, I know it's fiction, but I wish Corey were a little more "real." I know the main character has to live on for the sequel, but he could make an mistake or two and still win at the end.

Loved Charm School. That led me to Up Country and Word of Honor, which is probably my favorite of what I've read of his work.

I am probably a little more fond of John Sanford, but Demille is still pretty good to read.

Nelson DeMille and I were at Ft Benning GA at the same time (in OCS), although I never met him.

I read all of his books, just as soon as they come out. He's the real deal -- platoon leader in Viet Nam.

Check out The Gate House. It's a great novel and funny as shit.

I've reread Charm School so many times it's falling apart. My copy of Plum Island disintegrated and I'm on the search for a replacement.

So yeah, I like him.

Up Country and Plum Island were both good reads. I will probably read more DeMille books based on the merits of those two novels.
