Rented this past weekend and enjoyed it. Great soundtrack. What kind of rifle did Pine's character have at the end of the movie when confronting Bridges character on the porch?

We watched it on the recommendation of our son (who sees quite a lot of 1st run movies). He called "Hell or High Water" the best movie he saw in 2016. Great

2-16 may have just been crap for movies... but OF THE ONES I SAW ( and that is a limited list, so take this with buckes of salt)...

I Enjoyed Sicario, but found it TRYING to hard. It had all the elements, but it never quite got there. I liked it, but it didnt "wow" me.

I LOVED Rogue One "A Star Wars Story" Best Star Wars Movie since Return of the Jedi. It redeemed the abortion that was "The Force Awakens"

But, Beyond Hell of High Water, nothing else stood out for me. NOTHING.

This is airing tonight on Showtime. I almost watched it when it was on pay per view at 5.99 but I decided I already give the sumbitches at DirecTV enough money. Looking forward to it.

I can't seem to get enough of this movie. DVD player and related stuff are still packed away following a recent move, and we've been watching a lot of Netflix and Amazon Prime stuff lately anyway. Beyond that...I've watched this via On Demand maybe four times now. Yes, I realize, probably more than the cost of a DVD...

Watched it on Showtime last night. Liked it a lot, although I'll admit I'm a sucker for west Texas small town movies. Some good action and good acting. The relationship between Toby and his X and boys was very well done, as was the interaction between the sheriff and his deputy.

So, was it worth the wait?

I thought it was pretty darn good, definitely one of the better newer movies I've seen. Good acting all around, in my opinion. I'm also partial to movies with a rural or small town setting.

Seeing this thread I had to watch it again last night. In addition to the fine acting by the leads the actors in the small roles were great; The "old guys" at the diner, the various bank employees, the old waitress (I believe she really is a waitress), Katy Mixon-"the sassy big gal", even the guys playing the various cops.

And the guy who was the Comanche at the casino-wow what a voice.

I tried watching with a more critical eye and still couldn't find a fault with the film.

I'm hoping for a breakdown from Para too. I enjoy his take on things, and appreciate his eye for technical aspects as well.

Nah, she's an accomplished actress. She played the motel clerk in "No Country".

Watched it again, and liked it even more.

Curious to hear Para's thoughts on this one.

Thank you. I recorded it but became distracted by a loud noise or shiny metal object. I'll get to it in the next day or two.

OK, I'm in the minority. Didn't even finish watching it, I predicted the end 20 minutes in and my wife finished watching it said I was right.

Just saw it on dish. I know I' m behind the curve, but I usually wait for movies to appear on cable. First two songs by Townes Van Sant and Ray Wylie Hubbard, two great Tex songwriters. I figured it had to be a good movie with the two songs at the start. It was. Jeff Bridges was great as a Texas Ranger. If you've spent any time in West Texas, this movie captures it. Screenwriter Taylor Sheriden grew up on a ranch in Bosque county. Says he'd still be there if family hadn't lost the ranch. He attended Tex state. Is an actor who appeared in Sons of Anarchy. He also wrote the script for sicario.

Having spent years working for a Texas county government, I've been around a lot of rural lawmen. Bridges nailed it. Even carries a 1911. Reminded me of a couple I've known.

I highly recommend. Filmed in New Mexico but easily passes for Lubbock, Midland and areas beyond. I believed it.
