Disney confirmed today that The Book of Boba Fett is a new show, not a surprise twist for Season 3 of The Mandalorian. It's apparently a 4 episode miniseries, which will debut either at the same time as the start of Season 3 of Mando or just before Season 3 drops. Its timeframe will run concurrent with Season 3 of Mando, so there may be some crossover/overlap with Season 3's story arc.  | |||

Carano was facing backlash after the controversial Instagram post about Republicans and Jews, prompting the hashtag #FireGinaCarano to trend on social media. In Twitter posts published in November, the actress mocked mask-wearing amid the coronavirus pandemic and claimed voter fraud took place during the 2020 presidential election. A source told the Hollywood Reporter Lucasfilm wanted to fire Carano for some time. “They have been looking for a reason to fire her for two months, and today was the final straw,” the source said. I thought The Mandalorian was okay but after reading Pedro Pascal's comments about Trump supporters, and now Gina's treatment by Lucasfilm, there's no reason for me to watch anything put out by Lucasfilm. And Disney, too, I suppose, as they are the parent company. Whatever will I watch and how will I survive without television you ask? Books, hobbies, chores, visiting with family & friends, etc., etc. I can certainly do without tv and movies, but they can't do without people like me multiplied by thousands or millions. | |||

And yet.... James Gunn was brought back after being fired for what was believed to be humorous but poor taste posts from years ago regarding child porn, pedophilia and rape. Disney/Lucas Film may have itself a wrongful termination lawsuit in its future if Ms Carrano wishes to walk away from the entertainment industry and drop one on the mouse. | |||

This is nothing new. Disney is a ruthless company. They were an industry leader in laying off American workers and outsourcing to India. Disney is all about H1B Visas and was at the forefront of doing this in the United States. Many people (not you or anyone here) thinks they are a children focused company when in reality they are as ruthless as it gets. They are cheap, chintzy, and petty, and for many years I've worked to not give them any of my money in the form of movie tickets, subscriptions, etc. Unless you hit them in the wallet they will continue with this behavior. You know who else wouldn't back down? Colin Kaepernick. I don't have much sympathy for either of them. Gina got plenty of warnings from her employer that her opinions were generating more controversy than they wanted to deal with. At least Gina voiced her opinions on her own time and not on the job, unlike Kaepernick. She's far from A-list. Her role on The Mandalorian and proposed spin-off series might be a once-in-a-lifetime, career-making opportunity. She should have done like Chris Pratt and keep her mouth shut. They both have worked in Hollywood long enough to understand the environment they work in. Gina tore up her meal-ticket. If it's unclear to you, I'm not defending hypocrisy nor arguing about how things should be. I am talking about how things are and accepting the reality of one's situation. | |||

Well, the way things are, is completely unacceptable. Maybe sympathy isn't the right word, but I think admiration is. The net is closing in around all those who want to speak the truth, period. This is way beyond Lucas film and Gina Carano. What she said in this last statement is only controversial because it is the truth and the truth scares these people to death. I have followed her for years. It has been fun watching her star in a few movies, and then the mandolorian. I follow her on twitter, and honestly, I saw it coming, the cancel has been after her in strength since she changed her pronouns to "beep/boop/bop" kinda mocking them with it. Even Pedro, Mando himself has "HE/HIM" in his twitter handle. So she knew what she was doing. But damn, all she did was point out that hating someone just because their idea is different leads to intolerance and tyranny. and she is right. So I am proud of her, she played the game and appears to have lost. Another strong female silenced by the very culture that proports to champion her. Eat shit and die Disney.
