So many good ones but ill throw in Anthony Hopkins and Michael Kaine.

I submit Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Not that he ever became a great actor, but the difference between the '70s (Hercules in New Yord, The Villian), the '80s (Conan, Commando), and the '90s (Total Recall, True Lies) is significant. I'm not sure he continued to get better after the '90s, but I don't think he's gotten any worse.

I have to say, I've been enjoying his performances post-governorship, now that he's not big top-of-the-box-office-world movie star anymore. I like these older, grayer, darker, more sullen and melancholy Schwarzenegger roles, such as in The Last Stand, Sabotage, Maggie and Aftermath. They're much more interesting, nuanced, and flawed characters than, say, Harry Tasker, Jack Slater, or the Terminator.

Yeah, I agree.

Setting aside her politics, I think Meryl Streep is as good an actress as one can get. In any of her recent movies, I only see the character and have a hard time seeing Meryl Streep. Devil wears Prada, Julia Childs, etc.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
