"Robin And Marian"

Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn.

Marian has just poisoned Robin who is mortally wounded and dying...to keep him from being arrested and executed...then has poisoned herself....

"I love you more than the sun, I love you more than the air I breathe..."

Also, Kirk Douglas..."The Vikings".

And again Kirk Douglas...."Spartacus".

Ya beat me to it. There's a story that when they got Douglas 'crucified', Kubrick yelled 'Lunch!' and everybody left the set. Big Grin - Jim

When a thing is funny, search it carefully for a hidden truth.

"He is free, my love! He is free!....."

Brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it.

(but not about Kirk Douglas hanging there wondering when somebody would bring him a cold beer and sammich... Big Grin..)

Braveheart.
When Wallace is being drawn an quartered and yells out "Freedom".

Also a +1 for Paul Ruebens in Buffy, and Mellish in SPR.

As others have mentioned, my sig line is my favorite. Also Sam Elliot playing Sgt. Buckey O'Neil in the movie 'Rough Riders'. "There hasn't been the Spanish bullet made that could kill me" just as a Spanish bullet hits him in the mouth.

Poor guy goes from getting radioactive waste dumped on him in Robocop, to getting a helicopter thrown on top of him.

Yup. I thought I was the only person who remembered him in RoboCop! Big Grin And he had a irrational fear of helicopters all along the way. I think he lost an arm to the whirlybird first, and it came back with great vengeance and furious anger to finish off the job!

Dang.....we forgot the melancholy Dane...

Hamlet: Oh! I die, Horatio!
The potent poison quite o'ercrows my spirit.I cannot live to hear the news from England,
But I do prophesy th' election lights on Fortinbras.

He has my dying voice.

So tell him, with th' occurents, more and less,
Which have solicited.....

...the rest...is silence.

Horatio: Now cracks a noble heart!
Good night, sweet prince,
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!

I can't believe no one has yet mentioned On the Beach.

If you're not familiar, it's the story of a group of people in Australia after a nuclear war. Radiation has killed everyone else in the world so people in Australia are left simply waiting for the radiation (and slow, painful death) to arrive.

Here are the two ending scenes from YouTube. Be warned, it's sad.

Scene #1

Scene #2

That is the remake...and I would be hard pressed to think of a movie less needing of a remake. Smile

The original starring Gregory Peck, Fred Astaire, Ava Gardner, Anthony Perkins and others...directed by Stanley Kramer....was quite adequate thank you. Smile

Damn... This one brought me into the Forum for a Rare Post.

4 Pages of Posts and not one mention of one hell of a death scene.

Colors... Gang Banger shoots Robert Duvall and he keeps saying wait hold on a sec.I'm ok as Sean Penn hold him as he's dying.

That was one Fucked up scene on his last day on the job.

When Spock dies in the Wrath of Khan was a pretty emotional death scene for me (at least as a younger kid that was a Star Trek fan). When Kirk dies in Star Trek Generation that would rank on the other list as one of the lamest death scenes.

When Sil takes Adriana for a ride, and when Tony ends Christopher's ride.

Also, the elevator scene in The Departed!

The last stand during the "Wild Bunch."

I always thought Willem Dafoe's death scene in "Platoon" was well done also.

When the fat guy Porkins augured in to the Death Star in "A New Hope".
