I don't know how else to describe it, but I just think this song is beautiful. It kind of reminds me of a lot of Pink Floyd music. Just...moving.

What else you got?

The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People again must learn to work, instead of living on public assistance. ~ Cicero 55 BC

On phone so can't embed but one of the most beautiful melodies I've ever heard is Ashokan Farewell by Jay Ungar. You'll recognize it from Ken Burns' Civil War doc.

I have a few.

First is Mirelle Mathieu's Trois Milliards De Gens Sur Terre. It has several things going for it. It follows the rhythm of the Battle Hymn of the Republic, it's a song in French which I think is the sexist language in the world, and the lady has some pipes.

Next is Cloverton's Christmas version of Hallelujah.

Last is Homeward Bound by the BYU Choir & Orchestra. I'll give the Mormons this; they can sing. This is the only version of this song I've found that I like. All the other versions I've listened to seem to be trying too hard.

I always go back to this one, which may well be my favorite piece of recorded music ever; it’s just got everything. The song was written by Rodney Crowell, the Hot Band is incredible, backing vocal by Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou’s performance is stunningly beautiful.

Crosby, Stills & Nash - Southern Cross

I can't say that I'd ever gotten into a Crosby, Stills & Nash song until I heard Southern Cross on the season finale of Blacklist a year or so back. I thought it was an absolutely beautiful song. Had to download it and add it to my collection.

love this song but I prefer Willie's version on Willie and Family Live. another I love... Mary Fahl's Going Home which was kind of a theme to the Gods and Generals movie.

If you like that Queenryche song then this is right down your alley. It's Queensryche and Dream Theater (one of THE best guitarists) doing a live cover of Comfortably Numb. The outro solo is soooooo juicy.
