My first was Boston's self titled debut album. To this day "More than a Feeling" still gives me a rush.

Def Leppard. Hysteria. Bought it in 1987 and played the crap out of it.

Bought a new turntable a few weeks ago and the same record was the first one played on it.

Turntables have come a long way in the last 30 years!

I don't remember but it was either Billy Joel's Glass Houses or The Who's Face Dances.

It was either Springsteen's Born in the USA or Michael Jackson's Thriller. I wore them both out.

I'm not into rock but my very first LP that I bought was Black Sabbath Master of Reality. I took it home and played it. I don't think I knew the band before I bought it nor have I listened to any of their songs on the radio. I was listening to pop music channels.

The albums I bought after that were all current jazz albums - Ronnie Laws, Hubert Laws, Tomita, etc.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." For whatever reason I simply can't recall what the first vinyl album was. But surprisingly I know that Running Bear was my first 45 and Dire Straits' Money For Nothing album was my first CD. Smile

Buddy Holly. And, yea, he was still alive. It was the one where the whole cover was just a pic of him. I actually think I still have it somewhere around here.

OK, if we're going to start telling our age, mine was probably something by Bill Haley and The Comets.

My first album I ever bought was Diver Down by Van Halen.

The most recent one was Aaron Watson's Deep In The Heart Of Texas.

Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.
