First Blood is an excellent movie/story.

2 and 3 are pure 80s action flicks for good or bad, but nothing more then that.

The remake Rambo and last blood are basically revenge porn / gore porn action movies.

Not that I begrudge anybody for likely any one of these movies. Hell I like most of them, but First Blood is the only one that is truly good cinema or truly a good story with real emotions etc.

That’s my take anyway.

I also agree with the don’t be an asshole comment above because you never know who you will piss off. My wife and I always say this about scammers etc. what happens when you scam “John Gotti’s” grandmother and John isn’t the call the PD kinda guy?

Brian Denehey contributed just as much if not more than Stallone in regards to acting in the film. There are just as many Stallone films that I dislike as the ones I like. But I've liked Denehey in nearly everything he was in. He was a better all around actor than Stallone is or ever will be imo.

That being said I think Stallone's acting and probably more so his contributions to film is underrated by a lot of people. Rambo and Rocky are part of the American iconic film landscape and can't be ignored.

I agree, drama....

It had been about 15yrs between viewings, for me, seen it a handful of times total.

Was immediately struck by how much I empathized with Rambo.

The sherriff was a piece of shit.

Rambo was the good guy.

And unambiguously so.

Dennehey nailed the part, too. Smile

Dennehy is one of the more notable character actors of our time. I'm not sure of this entire background but, the roles I remember him, he excelled at being the large, presence figure, portraying the jerky-bully or, the gregarious, el hefe-type.

I'm sure John Favara's family would agree.
