Taxi
Saw a blurb today about Mary Lou Henner being open to a Taxi reunion. That was a great show with terrific writing. I remember thinking that when it came time each year for the Emmys, the one for best actor in a comedy series, should just automatically go to Danny De Vito for his role as Louie De Palma. All the other nominees should just concede. What's your favorite episode?

I liked when Jim was taking the drivers test. What does a yellow light mean? https://youtu.be/1HvmtbZzA40

One of my favorites was in Season 4 - “Elegant Iggy”.

Reverend Jim Ignatowski invites Elaine Nardo to a formal event, and while there, they run into an important patron at Elaine's art gallery.
The woman invites them both to a party, (although Elaine is very worried that Jim will embarrass her in an moment that's important to her career). Still, she doesn't quite have it in her to ask Jim not to go.

Everyone is charmed and impressed by Jim, but there’s just enough odd Ignatowski behavior to terrify Elaine. When the pianist doesn’t show, Jim volunteers to substitute and Elaine is mortified and says ..."He’s a veteran".
Ignatowski then sits down at a grand piano and starts plunking out "London bridge" like a little kid.

Then he pauses, gets a blank look and mumbles something about “Must have had piano lessons" and progresses into a beautiful melodic piano run. Great writing and brilliant acting.

One of my favorites was a two parter, where everyone had to get new jobs because the taxi company closed. Jim shows up at this woman's apartment to sell her a vacuum cleaner. She lets him in, whereupon he goes into his spiel about the virtues of the vacuum cleaner and to demonstrate, he proceeds to dump ashes, ketchup and other trash onto her carpet. With a flourish, he opens his display case, only to find encyclopedias. His reaction in front of the horrified woman is "Oh yeah. I didn't get that job!"

Why isn't Taxi on some streaming service? One of the best shows out there. Same question for WKRP.

I had such a great laugh, I drooled down my chin. I never watched the show. I know the monk guy came from there.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Same question for WKRP.

The DVD and syndication rights for KRP were totally mismanaged; they never secured the rights to the music, so much of what we remember from the show was changed in what episodes were released.
