Who else is looking forward to seeing this? I won a free ticket to see it from a M&M package. I'm even more curious to see how the Avengers and Guardians will work together. I never read any of the Guardians comics but thoroughly and unexpectedly enjoyed the first Guardians film.

It's not out for another two weeks! What's up with these kinds of threads?

I'm sure looking forward to the release date.

A few friends want to cosplay for the movie night release. I'm a little leery of doing that - too old and grumpy. The last time I did something like that was for a Doug McClure movie ...

James Gunn says he got his way on how to make this movie. Well, Gunn is the movie ...

Looking forward to the sound track too ...

I like the looks of this movie even more so than the first. Batista has quite a few funny lines from the previews.

I love the first one, and the soundtrack too. I hope the second is as good.

Interesting casting choice for Peter Quill's/Star Lord's dad... Kurt Russel.

Cosplay sounds like some kind of fetish porn. Why can't we still just call it dress up?

Because Dress Up does not involve nearly as much time, effort and cash.

Hahaha! Smile

Indeed it costs more for the cosplay. Dress up to me is something that can be purchased off the rack/shelf for under $50.

Cosplay ... well; a Star Lord replica pleather jacket is around $180; and you likely won't wear it to the local bar, so it's a specific purposeful use. You'll need a t-shirt under that and movie merchandising sees that at about $20.

You'll need a Star Lord helmet, $80 for a PVC helmet or a 1:1 Prop Replica for $1300.

Next, you'll want the blasters; the Nerf blasters are $10 each and you will need to paint those. You'll need to have those checked on admission to the ComiCon, to ensure they are not really a functional firearm; yup, even rubber knives and axes are verified.

You'll need gloves, belt, pants and boots. And some detail work to complete the ensemble.

For some, an art form of individual expression, with some very artistic endeavors applied. Even if you body type is not exactly a replica of your elected cosplay role.

Even if some purveyors of cosplay are a little weird and over geeky about these things.

The ComiCons I've attended are littered with good, bad and the ugly of cosplay.

It's a very different world and time, to the more simpler dress up of the cowboys and indians of my playground actors!

!!! SPOILER ALERT !!!!

Rolling Stone magazine have posted a story on the GOTG Vol 2 sound track album

Inside the 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Soundtrack - From Fleetwood Mac to Jay and the Americans, here's an exclusive look at what's on "Awesome Mix Vol. 2," and why

http://www.rollingstone.com/mu...2-soundtrack-w477515

I won't cut and paste the article here, it's a good read nonetheless ...

The album will be available from April 21 ...

For me, this sound track is a well continued theme from Vol 1, of Peter Quill's mother Meredith and her music preference.

Interesting because in one of the trailers I heard Suffragette City and I don't see it on that list.

We get to see this tomorrow for free. My wife got us tickets through her office. Some kind of vendor of theirs is sponsoring a closed showing. We just watched the first movie again tonight for a refresh, and because it's a fun movie.

If they kept the same team that made the first one, it should be fantastic.

I don't go to movie theaters but I will certainly get this on a 3D Blu-ray when available.

Looking forward to it as well. Just picked up tickets for Saturday. The Alamo in VA is the only place I'll go see a movie in the theaters anymore. It's just a better experience.

Saw it tonight, just got home. No spoilers, but I'll just say it was a most worthy sequel. A LOT of laughs. Overall I'd rate it as probably 99% as good as the original, a feat I consider very difficult if not impossible. YMMV of course. If you liked the original you should like this one. We both each won T-shirts in a drawing for about 15 items in a theater with around 150+ people.

I thought it was more laughs then the first one, but the story wasn't as good this time around.

Worth the price of admission.

I'd have to agree with all that. The first of any movie series is usually the best.
