What is the criteria for getting a star? Has it been different over the years?
I assume (you know?) that publicity is a major factor, maybe popularity, but was curious if there is a serious criteria?

You could have gone to the Walk of Fame website for the answer.

quote:
The criteria for receiving a star consists of the following:
- professional achievement
- longevity of five years or more
- contributions to the community and
- the guarantee that the celebrity will attend the dedication ceremony if selected.

- Posthumous awards require a five-year waiting period.

And a few tens of thousands of dollars. Bendable wasn't wrong when he said money.

The point about the celebrity agreeing is important too as there are several well known celebrities that have not agreed to having their name on the walk. Maybe the most notably for Sigforum is Julia Roberts Wink

And you do not have to be a real person to have a star on the hollywood Walk of Fame! Irony at it's true meaning!
Gives new meaning to funny money!
