Hamilton is a tool. Roll Eyes

I enjoyed Boseman in the few movies I saw him in.

He was from Anderson, SC. There's a online petition to remove the Confederate Memorial in front of the Anderson County courthouse and replace it with a statue of Boseman: The organizer of the petition states in the petition "the community should come together to honor someone from Anderson, South Carolina that was able to change the movie industry....It is only natural that his hometown honors what he did. There is no need for political controversy in this decision."

According to local records, the existing statue dedicated to the Confederate veterans of Anderson County was erected in 1902. The petition asks that the statue be moved to the Anderson County Museum. "It should be accompanied by the history of the monument and the reasoning for its relocation. It should preserve history, but not honor the ideals for which the Confederacy stood," states the petition.

I didn't stick around long enough with "Black Panther" to have any opinions about Chadwick Boseman. I did see enough to gather the movie was a ham-handed, racialist exercise in comic superiority. As such, a high-budget minstrel show. Anyone finding personal value in this silly effort is frankly sad, it's another Hollywood fairy tale. C'mon man.

"Colonizers" was a term used several times in the film as well as "We have to fix another white boy?" I think there was a time in a previous film (can't keep up with 30 of those films) where they fixed Captain Murica. I digress. It was most certainly pandering to the current political environment.

You know one scene of another movie comes to mind, a scene in Glory, with Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman. Denzel is chastising Morgan for being "the white man's dog" at which point Morgan gets irate, and lets him have it. He mentions the "white boys" that have been dying for him, by the thousands then he goes on to call him stuff I dare not repeat. Fast forward 100 years and plenty of "white folks" were getting their heads kicked in and smashed on the buses and in the restaurants as they marched, got on the buses, and marched hand in hand with black folks. Yet all white people are the problem.

What's strange to me is our Native American brothers and sisters always seem to be left out.
Nothing about them. A people I respect a lot. No mention of them, the reservations, the mass drug use, their history. What is the new term, community narcissism?

To quote Forrest Gump "Sorry I had to fight in the middle of your Black Panther party".

For fuck's sake. You have to see the comments on this youtube video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VSx2E7WE50

These people are fucking delusional, calling this actor a literal king. They can't understand why anyone would dislike this video, calling the 7600 or so people who hit thumbs down on it "not human". My God. I can't recall ever seeing anything like this for some actor- and that is all he was- who had a handful of film roles. The people in the comments section simply cannot understand why anyone does not worship- literally worship this guy. Just unreal. All these people must be empty. To latch on to some guy who earned his living doing dress-up play-pretend and to treat him as a deity, I just can't believe what I'm seeing. Don't believe me? Scroll through those comments. You tell me what you see. It's not just a few people commenting. There's nearly 75,000 comments, and virtually all of them are reverential beyond description. Mass hysteria.

This is flat-out ridiculous. What is missing in the lives of these people, that they have to construct this delusional fantasy about this actor being the greatest human being who has ever drawn breath? They have no perspective whatsoever. I look at that stuff and it makes me think the world has lost its collective mind.

There's no pushing back against it, of course. If you were in the same room with these people and you tried to reason with them, they'd probably tear you to pieces. I'm serious. They would probably kill you on the spot and tell themselves they did the right thing.

They’re sheep following the SJW pied piper.
I had never heard of him until after he died. I’ll assume he had good qualities and all, but...damn!

While waiting in the grocery checkout line, I noticed he’s on the cover of People ragazine. They are calling him a “hero”. Roll Eyes

One thing the internet is great for is letting everyone know how fucking stupid some people are. Before, people could keep it a secret.

Facebook has done a really good job with people exposing how stupid they really are.
