And why didn't the FBI chick lug Wash's (who is going to remember his character's name?? LOL) body out to help prove the resistance's story? She had time.

The way things go with TV these days, they HAD to move quickly with the pilot. This series was held back, scaled down, held back again, etc. for a loooong time as it is. If they'd lost any viewers after a slower pilot, it'd have been cancelled. That's the mentality of the execs now.
I love the uniforms and weapons and ships of the original but I'll give this a chance. I really like the darker tone to this. And Morena...beautiful women should have longer hair.
