Frank Sinatra. I would have loved to see him live.

In his prime, Frank Sinatra.
Before he contracted cancer, Frank Zappa

I would take Sinatra at any time in his life, but yeah nothing would beat seeing him in a smokey Vegas casino with a cigar and a glass of Jack 50 something years ago.

I think it is probably safe to assume that he intends to bring the person back when they still had their skill. What is the point otherwise?

Since Sinatra has been mentioned a couple of times, it appears singers are musicians. In that case,

Sandy Denny (in her prime).

If not,

Duane Allman

Nobody expects Tom Petty to die when he did - and hell, he performed 8 days before he passed away. He was certainly not in his prime, but worthy of a concert at that point.

In their heyday - Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Frank Sinatra, Jim Morrison, Harry Chapin, Bon Scott, Kurt Cobain, Adam Yauch (MCA), or Amy Winehouse

I'd love to just luck up on Townes Van Zandt singing some of his songs in some honky tonk. Not to mention all the other songs he could write...

But I think Jimi is definitely the pop music world's greatest loss.
