My guess is it's one of the lead walker/Night King guys on the dead/zombie horses shown in some earlier seasons.

I'm late to the Game Of Thrones party. Everyone I talked to said I gotta watch it. Just finished the first season and going to binge watch a couple of episodes per day until I finish all of the seasons made so far and watch the final. So far so good and interesting. My question to you all is what did y'all think of the soft porn involved? Added to the story line or detracted? I'm no prude and can take it or leave it. To me, it kind of detracted. And Sean Bean is true to form, killed off in the first season LOL!!

I love it.

But overall, it gives a good snap shot into the personalities involved.

For example, Little Finger's scene where he's "guiding" two girls on how to please a man. You can see, through his direction of the girls, the guide of man he is and what he expects out of his employees.

Don't think it really added or detracted but it is a common HBO (and others) trick to grab viewers in the first season or two. There isn't near as much nudity after about season 3.

I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

Yep. You can see the exposed bones in the horse's legs.

Looks like there will be a big nighttime battle at Winterfell. It's killing me, wondering if there are going to be multiple battles, one battle stretched over multiple episodes (seems unlikely), or battle in the last or next to last episode.

SPECULATION ALERT:

I'm guessing the WWs will win at Winterfell, and only some of the key characters will live to fight again.

Read an article yesterday that the Battle at Winterfell is set to be the longest battle sequence on film, ever.
Made specific reference to being longer than the 40 minute sequence in the LOTR: Two Towers.
Also mentioned actor(s) (unnamed female, guessing Maisie) nearly collapsing from the effort while filming.

With episodes being in the 90 minute range, half an episode of action sounds great.

Like many here, been rewatching to get ready for season 8. Can't believe I missed so much stuff the first time around. This season is going to be something incredible... at least I hope.

The first 3-4 seasons there's a fair amount of nudity, it does decrease as you get closer to current events, however if you get into the books there's ..quite a bit. Considering this is a feudal fantasy world where warriors are paramount, predators and sociopaths are given a pass provided they can serve ablely as fighters.

Saw something to this effect yesterday. Ep 1 & 2 are around 55min, followed by 1:10, 1:20, 1:20.
So, not the 6 'feature-length' episodes as expected.

It seems like things are pointing to the battle of Winterfell as being the decisive battle, However, the geography, with WF being so far north and so many forces still presumably south, makes me expect WF to happen early, and there to be at least one more major confrontation, either at the Eyrie, with its near impenetrable topography, or Kings Landing. Cersei and The Mountain have to be in the mix somehow.

Speculation:

Is it possible the Night King will be able to control The Mountain? If the WW do make it that far south, or Cersei heads north, it could make fir some interesting scenarios

My assumption is WF is mid to 2/3 thorough the season & King's Landing is the last or last 1.5 episodes, with the last (wo)man standing taking the throne.

Just based on the directors being named, the battle for Winterfell will be the 3rd episode. The battle for Kings Landing will be the 5th.

The Showrunners are directing the final episode

New Rockstars does a really good breakdown of the trailer. I wouldn't say it has factual spoilers, but it has a lot of speculation, some/much of which is probably fairly accurate.

With that level of speculation, what's the difference between the resurrected (Jon Snow & Beric Dondarian) or, the reanimated (The Mountain) and where does Uncle Benjen and all the wights, fall in that difference?

Interesting questions, here is my take.

Snow and Dondarian are alive. They were resurrected and not subject to the Night King's control.

The wights are under the Night King's control. They are reanimated corpses. Not zombies but undead.

Benjen is a reanimated corpse who somehow retained his own sentience. Unexplained in the series and not likely to be in the time left. The books may explain Benjen's uniqueness.

The Mountain we don't know. It was never explained if he died or not. Everyone assumed The Mountain would die after his battle with Oberyn but we never found out if he died or was brought back from the brink of death.

Season 6 Spoiler below, for those maybe working through it the first time.

In the episode after The Door when Benjen saves Meera & Bran, it's mentioned he was saved, after being left for dead north of the wall, the same way the white walkers were created; dragonglass through the heart.

ahh, yes. Thanks for the reminder. There's so much content, it's tough to keep it all straight.
