No spoilers! I swearz!

Wow....wow.....wow.....I'm just speechless. The only other time I've walked out of a theater feeling like this was when I saw Gladiator.

Ledger is now.... Legend. Yes, with a capital "L" It was only today that I realized what a great talent was lost. Truly unbelievable performance that we'll be talking about for years. Sorry, Jack.... but your Joker is a joke compared to Ledger's fierce delivery and sinister lips allowing that serpent tongue to weave fear and fright into our lives.

Wow.... just...wow. They did so much and did it so well....

Seriously.... this has to at least get nominated for picture of the year Oscar. Anything less would be insulting to Chris Nolan and the cast.

Heath Ledger just surpasssed Jack Nicholson as THE definitive Joker. It's very sad that he's no longer around to play the role again.

I literally see about one movie a year in the theater.

Glad it was this one. Just outstanding!

It is speculated that the deeper voice is by design. This is when Batman becomes darker and his ethics blur in the grey area between black and white.

I just got in from seeing TDK in IMAX. To me, that movie was a 10/10 regardless of genre.

Ledger might win for Supporting Actor, but only Effects and maybe Sound would be eligible for this movie.

Why is that? Are there certain criteria that would exclude The Dark Knight??

I plan on going Thursday to see it....can't wait.

Tim Burton directed Batman Returns. Chris Nolan directed Batman Begins.

I loved Burton's take on Batman, Joel Schumacher should be shot for what he did to the character. I really applaud Chris Nolan for restoring life to the franchise.

Out of curiosity, what were you expecting? What would have you liked to be different?

His voice gets deeper because Batman is the part of Bruce Wayne that is pure vengeance. Criminals are supposed to shit themselves when they know he is there.

People seem to think Batman is supposed to be some fag in a suit with nipples, or crotchless panties.

He is not spider-man, or captain planet.

I just got back from seeing this. I was extremely impressed. A fair warning, this movie is very "dark". There are several scenes that leave you thinking OMG after it's over.

What everyone has already said about Heath Ledger is spot on. His performance has to rank him as one of the best villains of any movie period, not just a comic movie.

My only complaint is that it could have been a little shorter. I think it was about 20 minutes too long. But that complaint is very minor and I loved the movie.

Man that was a great movie! Ledger did a vastly superior job to Nicholson. While I like Jack's version of Joker, this was downright scary. In that psychotic, what will he do next, cause he really is batshit crazy sort of way. Big Grin

I'm going to go see it again! 10/10 from me.

Michael, I did nothing. I did absolutely nothing, and it was everything that I thought it could be.

I'm with you on that. The movie was fantastic! Whenever Batman spoke, I almost laughed.

Hmm. Saw it today. All the hype, all the pre-release acclaim. All the Oscar talk. I was underwhelmed.

FWIW, I always liked Heath Ledger, but I think the Oscar talk is just that, talk. When I heard the movie was "best picture of the year," I had I hopes because I enjoyed The Beginning. It wasn't bad, it was different for a comic book movie; I just didn't think it was great.

Just got home from seeing it, definitely surpassed Iron Man, which I thought was going to be the best movie I saw all year.

Happily suprised.

Definitely going to see it again, and I will gladly pay full price.

I thought the first Batman movie absolutely sucked and vowed never to see another - is this one leaps and bounds better? it sounds pretty good.

I can't say enough about this one - VERY well done. I was thoroughly entertained for all two and a half hours and didn't want it to end.

define "first batman movie"...is that Batman in 1989? Or Batman Begins?

if you didnt like Batman Begins, which I thought was a great movie in its own right, then I dont know...I thought TDK was one of the best movies I've ever seen....period....PERIOD...and that includes the "greats"....the best review I have heard went something like this

"the next, best installment in American crime drama...think Serpico, Godfather...it just so happens the Antagonist is the Joker and the Protagonist is Batman...if you mistake this for 'another superhero movie' you will be sorely mistaken"
