I don't know who is saying such a thing, but it's silly. Unforgiven is a Western, ten ways from Sunday. Let's not get so cerebral that our brains leak out of our ears. To argue in any way that Unforgiven is not a Western film is nothing more than mental masturbation. It takes place in the American West in the late 19th Century There are horses, sixguns, small town sheriffs, gunfighters, ex-gunfighters, whores, saloons, sleeping out on the trail, etc. It's a Western. The same could be said for "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly." I am not an expert on westerns but Unforgiven is in my top 3 in the genre. I honestly cant think of too many actors that can pull off westerns like Clint in this.day and age. Well one, the blonde guy from 3:10 to Yuma and Barry Pepper. The remake of True Grit was enjoyable except for Matt Damon. He sucked imo. I guess they needed another big name for the box office.
